²⁰ Jacob also ^(A)made a vow, saying, “^(B)If God will be with me and will keep me on this journey that I ^[a]take, and give me ^[b](C)food to eat and garments to wear, ²¹ and ^(D)I return to my father’s house in ^[c]safety, ^(E)then the Lord will be my God. ²² And this stone, which I have set up as a memorial stone, ^(F)will be God’s house, and ^(G)of everything that You give me I will assuredly give a tenth to You.”

² But because of sexual immoralities, each man is to have his own wife, and each woman is to have her own husband.

⁹ But if they do not have self-control, ^(A)let them marry; for it is better to marry than to burn with passion.

²⁸ The one who steals must no longer steal; but rather ^(A)he must labor, ^(B)producing with his own hands what is good, ^(C)so that he will have something to share with the one who has need.

¹¹ But He said to them, “^(A)Not all men can accept this statement, but ^(B)only those to whom it has been given.
