God Humbles the Proud, but Exalts the Righteous.

75 We (A)give thanks to You, God, we give thanks,
For Your name is (B)near;
People declare (C)Your wondrous works.
2 “When I select an (D)appointed time,
It is I who (E)judge fairly.
3 The (F)earth and all who inhabit it [b]are unsteady;
It is I who have firmly set its (G)pillars. Selah
4 I said to the boastful, ‘Do not boast,’
And to the wicked, ‘(H)Do not lift up the horn;
5 Do not lift up your horn on high,
(I)Do not speak with insolent [c]pride.’”
6 For not from the east, nor from the west,
Nor from the [d](J)desert comes exaltation;
7 But (K)God is the Judge;
He (L)puts down one and exalts another.
8 For a (M)cup is in the hand of the Lord, and the wine foams;
It is [e](N)well mixed, and He pours out of this;
Certainly all the wicked of the earth must drain and (O)drink its dregs.
9 But as for me, I will (P)declare it forever;
I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.
10 And [f]He will cut off all the (Q)horns of the wicked,
But (R)the horns of the righteous will be lifted up.

76 God is (S)known in Judah;
His name is (T)great in Israel.
2 His [g](U)tabernacle is in (V)Salem;
His (W)dwelling place also is in Zion.
3 There He (X)broke the [h]flaming arrows,
The shield, the sword, and the [i]weapons of war. Selah
4 You are resplendent,
[j]More majestic than the mountains of prey.
5 The (Y)stouthearted were plundered,
[k]They sank into sleep;
And none of the [l]warriors could use his hands.
6 At Your (Z)rebuke, God of Jacob,
Both [m](AA)rider and horse were cast into a dead sleep.
7 You, You indeed are (AB)to be feared,
And (AC)who may stand in Your presence, [n]once You are angry?
8 You caused judgment to be heard from heaven;
The earth (AD)feared and was still
9 When God (AE)arose to judgment,
To save all the humble of the earth. Selah
10 For the [o](AF)wrath of mankind shall praise You;
You will encircle Yourself with a remnant of wrath.
11 (AG)Make vows to the Lord your God and (AH)fulfill them;
All who are around Him are to (AI)bring gifts to Him who is to be feared.
12 He will cut off the spirit of princes;
He is [p](AJ)feared by the kings of the earth.

77 My voice rises to God, and I will (AK)cry aloud;
My voice rises to God, and He will listen to me.
2 In the (AL)day of my trouble I sought the Lord;
(AM)In the night my (AN)hand was stretched out and did not grow weary;
My soul (AO)refused to be comforted.
3 When I remember God, then I am (AP)restless;
When I (AQ)sigh, then (AR)my spirit feels weak. Selah
4 You have held my eyelids open;
I am so troubled that I (AS)cannot speak.
5 I have considered the (AT)days of old,
The years of long ago.
6 I will remember my (AU)song in the night;
I (AV)will meditate with my heart,
And my spirit [r]ponders:
7 Will the Lord (AW)reject forever?
And will He (AX)never be favorable again?
8 Has His (AY)favor ceased forever?
Has His [s](AZ)promise come to an end [t]forever?
9 Has God (BA)forgotten to be gracious,
Or has He in anger [u]withdrawn His (BB)compassion? Selah
10 Then I said, “(BC)It is my [v]grief,
That the (BD)right hand of the Most High has changed.”
11 I shall remember the (BE)deeds of [w]the Lord;
I will certainly (BF)remember Your wonders of old.
12 I will (BG)meditate on all Your work,
And on Your deeds with thanksgiving.
13 Your way, God, is (BH)holy;
(BI)What god is great like our God?
14 You are the (BJ)God who works wonders;
You have (BK)made known Your strength among the peoples.
15 By Your [x]power You have (BL)redeemed Your people,
The sons of Jacob and (BM)Joseph. Selah
16 The (BN)waters saw You, God;
The waters saw You, they were in anguish;
The ocean depths also trembled.
17 The (BO)clouds poured out water;
The skies [y](BP)sounded out;
Your (BQ)arrows [z]flashed here and there.
18 The (BR)sound of Your thunder was in the whirlwind;
The (BS)lightning lit up the world;
The (BT)earth trembled and shook.
19 Your (BU)way was in the sea
And Your paths in the mighty waters,
And Your footprints were not known.
20 You (BV)led Your people like a flock
By the hand of (BW)Moses and Aaron.

For the director of music. To the tune of “Do Not Destroy.” A psalm of Asaph. A song.
1 We praise you, God,
we praise you, for your Name is near;(A)
people tell of your wonderful deeds.(B)
2 You say, “I choose the appointed time;(C)
it is I who judge with equity.(D)
3 When the earth and all its people quake,(E)
it is I who hold its pillars(F) firm.[b]
4 To the arrogant(G) I say, ‘Boast no more,’(H)
and to the wicked, ‘Do not lift up your horns.[c](I)
5 Do not lift your horns against heaven;
do not speak so defiantly.(J)’”
6 No one from the east or the west
or from the desert can exalt themselves.
7 It is God who judges:(K)
He brings one down, he exalts another.(L)
8 In the hand of the Lord is a cup
full of foaming wine mixed(M) with spices;
he pours it out, and all the wicked of the earth
drink it down to its very dregs.(N)
9 As for me, I will declare(O) this forever;
I will sing(P) praise to the God of Jacob,(Q)
10 who says, “I will cut off the horns of all the wicked,
but the horns of the righteous will be lifted up.”(R)

1 God is renowned in Judah;
in Israel his name is great.(S)
2 His tent is in Salem,(T)
his dwelling place in Zion.(U)
3 There he broke the flashing arrows,(V)
the shields and the swords, the weapons of war.[e](W)
4 You are radiant with light,(X)
more majestic than mountains rich with game.
5 The valiant(Y) lie plundered,
they sleep their last sleep;(Z)
not one of the warriors
can lift his hands.
6 At your rebuke,(AA) God of Jacob,
both horse and chariot(AB) lie still.
7 It is you alone who are to be feared.(AC)
Who can stand(AD) before you when you are angry?(AE)
8 From heaven you pronounced judgment,
and the land feared(AF) and was quiet—
9 when you, God, rose up to judge,(AG)
to save all the afflicted(AH) of the land.
10 Surely your wrath against mankind brings you praise,(AI)
and the survivors of your wrath are restrained.[f]
11 Make vows to the Lord your God and fulfill them;(AJ)
let all the neighboring lands
bring gifts(AK) to the One to be feared.
12 He breaks the spirit of rulers;
he is feared by the kings of the earth.

1 I cried out to God(AL) for help;
I cried out to God to hear me.
2 When I was in distress,(AM) I sought the Lord;
at night(AN) I stretched out untiring hands,(AO)
and I would not be comforted.(AP)
3 I remembered(AQ) you, God, and I groaned;(AR)
I meditated, and my spirit grew faint.[h](AS)
4 You kept my eyes from closing;
I was too troubled to speak.(AT)
5 I thought about the former days,(AU)
the years of long ago;
6 I remembered my songs in the night.
My heart meditated and my spirit asked:
7 “Will the Lord reject forever?(AV)
Will he never show his favor(AW) again?
8 Has his unfailing love(AX) vanished forever?
Has his promise(AY) failed for all time?
9 Has God forgotten to be merciful?(AZ)
Has he in anger withheld his compassion?(BA)”
10 Then I thought, “To this I will appeal:
the years when the Most High stretched out his right hand.(BB)
11 I will remember the deeds of the Lord;
yes, I will remember your miracles(BC) of long ago.
12 I will consider(BD) all your works
and meditate on all your mighty deeds.”(BE)
13 Your ways, God, are holy.
What god is as great as our God?(BF)
14 You are the God who performs miracles;(BG)
you display your power among the peoples.
15 With your mighty arm you redeemed your people,(BH)
the descendants of Jacob and Joseph.
16 The waters(BI) saw you, God,
the waters saw you and writhed;(BJ)
the very depths were convulsed.
17 The clouds poured down water,(BK)
the heavens resounded with thunder;(BL)
your arrows(BM) flashed back and forth.
18 Your thunder was heard in the whirlwind,(BN)
your lightning(BO) lit up the world;
the earth trembled and quaked.(BP)
19 Your path(BQ) led through the sea,(BR)
your way through the mighty waters,
though your footprints were not seen.
