Let All Peoples Praise the Lord
117 Praise (A)the Lord, all you Gentiles!
[a]Laud Him, all you peoples!
2 For His merciful kindness is great toward us,
And (B)the truth of the Lord endures forever.
Praise the Lord!
Praise to God for His Everlasting Mercy
2 (E)Let Israel now say,
“His mercy endures forever.”
3 Let the house of Aaron now say,
“His mercy endures forever.”
4 Let those who fear the Lord now say,
“His mercy endures forever.”
5 (F)I called on the Lord in distress;
The Lord answered me and (G)set me in a broad place.
6 (H)The Lord is on my side;
I will not fear.
What can man do to me?
7 (I)The Lord is for me among those who help me;
Therefore (J)I shall see my desire on those who hate me.
8 (K)It is better to trust in the Lord
Than to put confidence in man.
9 (L)It is better to trust in the Lord
Than to put confidence in princes.
10 All nations surrounded me,
But in the name of the Lord I will destroy them.
11 They (M)surrounded me,
Yes, they surrounded me;
But in the name of the Lord I will destroy them.
12 They surrounded me (N)like bees;
They were quenched (O)like a fire of thorns;
For in the name of the Lord I will [b]destroy them.
13 You pushed me violently, that I might fall,
But the Lord helped me.
14 (P)The Lord is my strength and song,
And He has become my salvation.
15 The voice of rejoicing and salvation
Is in the tents of the righteous;
The right hand of the Lord does valiantly.
16 (Q)The right hand of the Lord is exalted;
The right hand of the Lord does valiantly.
17 (R)I shall not die, but live,
And (S)declare the works of the Lord.
18 The Lord has (T)chastened[c] me severely,
But He has not given me over to death.
19 (U)Open to me the gates of righteousness;
I will go through them,
And I will praise the Lord.
20 (V)This is the gate of the Lord,
(W)Through which the righteous shall enter.
21 I will praise You,
For You have (X)answered me,
And have become my salvation.
22 (Y)The stone which the builders rejected
Has become the chief cornerstone.
23 [d]This was the Lord’s doing;
It is marvelous in our eyes.
24 This is the day the Lord has made;
We will rejoice and be glad in it.
25 Save now, I pray, O Lord;
O Lord, I pray, send now prosperity.
26 (Z)Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!
We have blessed you from the house of the Lord.
27 God is the Lord,
And He has given us (AA)light;
Bind the sacrifice with cords to the horns of the altar.
28 You are my God, and I will praise You;
(AB)You are my God, I will exalt You.
29 Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good!
For His mercy endures forever.

119 Blessed are the [e]undefiled in the way,
(AC)Who walk in the law of the Lord!
2 Blessed are those who keep His testimonies,
Who seek Him with the (AD)whole heart!
3 (AE)They also do no iniquity;
They walk in His ways.
4 You have commanded us
To keep Your precepts diligently.
5 Oh, that my ways were directed
To keep Your statutes!
6 (AF)Then I would not be ashamed,
When I look into all Your commandments.
7 I will praise You with uprightness of heart,
When I learn Your righteous judgments.
8 I will keep Your statutes;
Oh, do not forsake me utterly!

9 How can a young man cleanse his way?
By taking heed according to Your word.
10 With my whole heart I have (AG)sought You;
Oh, let me not wander from Your commandments!
11 (AH)Your word I have hidden in my heart,
That I might not sin against You.
12 Blessed are You, O Lord!
Teach me Your statutes.
13 With my lips I have (AI)declared
All the judgments of Your mouth.
14 I have rejoiced in the way of Your testimonies,
As much as in all riches.
15 I will meditate on Your precepts,
And [f]contemplate Your ways.
16 I will (AJ)delight myself in Your statutes;
I will not forget Your word.

17 (AK)Deal bountifully with Your servant,
That I may live and keep Your word.
18 Open my eyes, that I may see
Wondrous things from Your law.
19 (AL)I am a stranger in the earth;
Do not hide Your commandments from me.
20 (AM)My soul [g]breaks with longing
For Your judgments at all times.
21 You rebuke the proud—the cursed,
Who stray from Your commandments.
22 (AN)Remove from me reproach and contempt,
For I have kept Your testimonies.
23 Princes also sit and speak against me,
But Your servant meditates on Your statutes.
24 Your testimonies also are my delight
And my counselors.

25 (AO)My soul clings to the dust;
(AP)Revive me according to Your word.
26 I have declared my ways, and You answered me;
(AQ)Teach me Your statutes.
27 Make me understand the way of Your precepts;
So (AR)shall I meditate on Your wonderful works.

Strengthen me according to Your word.
29 Remove from me the way of lying,
And grant me Your law graciously.
30 I have chosen the way of truth;
Your judgments I have laid before me.
31 I cling to Your testimonies;
O Lord, do not put me to shame!
32 I will run the course of Your commandments,
For You shall (AT)enlarge my heart.

And I shall keep it to the end.

Indeed, I shall observe it with my whole heart.

For I delight in it.

And not to (AW)covetousness.

And revive me in [l]Your way.

Who is devoted to fearing You.
39 Turn away my reproach which I dread,
For Your judgments are good.
40 Behold, I long for Your precepts;
Revive me in Your righteousness.

41 Let Your mercies come also to me, O Lord—
Your salvation according to Your word.
42 So shall I have an answer for him who [m]reproaches me,
For I trust in Your word.
43 And take not the word of truth utterly out of my mouth,
For I have hoped in Your ordinances.
44 So shall I keep Your law continually,
Forever and ever.
45 And I will walk [n]at (BA)liberty,
For I seek Your precepts.
46 (BB)I will speak of Your testimonies also before kings,
And will not be ashamed.
47 And I will delight myself in Your commandments,
Which I love.
48 My hands also I will lift up to Your commandments,
Which I love,
And I will meditate on Your statutes.

49 Remember the word to Your servant,
Upon which You have caused me to hope.
50 This is my (BC)comfort in my affliction,
For Your word has given me life.
51 The proud have me in great derision,
Yet I do not turn aside from Your law.
52 I remembered Your judgments of old, O Lord,
And have comforted myself.
53 (BD)Indignation has taken hold of me
Because of the wicked, who forsake Your law.
54 Your statutes have been my songs
In the house of my pilgrimage.
55 (BE)I remember Your name in the night, O Lord,
And I keep Your law.
56 This has become mine,
Because I kept Your precepts.

57 (BF)You are my portion, O Lord;
I have said that I would keep Your words.
58 I entreated Your favor with my whole heart;
Be merciful to me according to Your word.
59 I (BG)thought about my ways,
And turned my feet to Your testimonies.
60 I made haste, and did not delay
To keep Your commandments.
61 The cords of the wicked have bound me,
But I have not forgotten Your law.
62 (BH)At midnight I will rise to give thanks to You,
Because of Your righteous judgments.
63 I am a companion of all who fear You,
And of those who keep Your precepts.
64 (BI)The earth, O Lord, is full of Your mercy;
Teach me Your statutes.

65 You have dealt well with Your servant,
O Lord, according to Your word.
66 Teach me good judgment and (BJ)knowledge,
For I believe Your commandments.
67 Before I was (BK)afflicted I went astray,
But now I keep Your word.
68 You are (BL)good, and do good;
Teach me Your statutes.
69 The proud have (BM)forged[o] a lie against me,
But I will keep Your precepts with my whole heart.
70 (BN)Their heart is [p]as fat as grease,
But I delight in Your law.
71 It is good for me that I have been afflicted,
That I may learn Your statutes.

Than thousands of coins of gold and silver.

1 Praise the Lord,(A) all you nations;(B)
extol him, all you peoples.
2 For great is his love(C) toward us,
and the faithfulness of the Lord(D) endures forever.

Psalm 118
2 Let Israel say:(H)
“His love endures forever.”(I)
3 Let the house of Aaron say:(J)
“His love endures forever.”
4 Let those who fear the Lord(K) say:
“His love endures forever.”
5 When hard pressed,(L) I cried to the Lord;
he brought me into a spacious place.(M)
6 The Lord is with me;(N) I will not be afraid.
What can mere mortals do to me?(O)
7 The Lord is with me; he is my helper.(P)
I look in triumph on my enemies.(Q)
8 It is better to take refuge in the Lord(R)
than to trust in humans.(S)
9 It is better to take refuge in the Lord
than to trust in princes.(T)
10 All the nations surrounded me,
but in the name of the Lord I cut them down.(U)

12 They swarmed around me like bees,(X)
but they were consumed as quickly as burning thorns;(Y)

13 I was pushed back and about to fall,

resound in the tents of the righteous:

the Lord’s right hand has done mighty things!”
17 I will not die(AG) but live,
and will proclaim(AH) what the Lord has done.
18 The Lord has chastened(AI) me severely,

I will enter(AL) and give thanks to the Lord.
