Keep me as [a]the (A)apple of the eye;
Hide me (B)in the shadow of Your wings
From the (C)wicked who deal violently with me,
My (D)deadly enemies who surround me.
10 They have (E)closed their [b]unfeeling hearts,
With their mouths they (F)speak proudly.
11 They have now (G)surrounded us in our steps;
They set their eyes (H)to cast us down to the ground.
12 He is (I)like a lion that is eager to tear,
And as a young lion (J)lurking in secret places.

13 (K)Arise, Lord, confront him, (L)make him bow down;
(M)Save my soul from the wicked with (N)Your sword,
14 From people by (O)Your hand, Lord,
From people [c]of the world, (P)whose portion is in this life,
And whose belly You (Q)fill with Your treasure;
They are satisfied with children,
And leave their abundance to their babies.
15 As for me, I shall (R)behold Your face in righteousness;
