Psalm 118

¹Give thanks to the Lord,^(A) for he is good;^(B)
his love endures forever.^(C)

²Let Israel say:^(D)
    “His love endures forever.”^(E)
³Let the house of Aaron say:^(F)
    “His love endures forever.”
⁴Let those who fear the Lord^(G) say:
    “His love endures forever.”

Psalm 118:14-24

New International Version

¹⁴The Lord is my strength^(A) and my defense^[a];
he has become my salvation.^(B)

¹⁵Shouts of joy^(C) and victory
    resound in the tents of the righteous:
“The Lord’s right hand^(D) has done mighty things!^(E)
¹⁶    The Lord’s right hand is lifted high;
    the Lord’s right hand has done mighty things!”
¹⁷I will not die^(F) but live,
    and will proclaim^(G) what the Lord has done.
¹⁸The Lord has chastened^(H) me severely,
    but he has not given me over to death.^(I)
¹⁹Open for me the gates^(J) of the righteous;
    I will enter^(K) and give thanks to the Lord.
²⁰This is the gate of the Lord^(L)
    through which the righteous may enter.^(M)
²¹I will give you thanks, for you answered me;^(N)
    you have become my salvation.^(O)

²²The stone^(P) the builders rejected
    has become the cornerstone;^(Q)
²³the Lord has done this,
    and it is marvelous^(R) in our eyes.
²⁴The Lord has done it this very day;
    let us rejoice today and be glad.^(S)

Jesus Has Risen^(A)

28 After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene^(B) and the other Mary^(C) went to look at the tomb.

²There was a violent earthquake,^(D) for an angel^(E) of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone^(F) and sat on it. ³His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow.^(G) ⁴The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men.

⁵The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid,^(H) for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. ⁶He is not here; he has risen, just as he said.^(I) Come and see the place where he lay. ⁷Then go quickly and tell his disciples: ‘He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee.^(J) There you will see him.’ Now I have told you.”

⁸So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples. ⁹Suddenly Jesus met them.^(K) “Greetings,” he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him. ¹⁰Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers^(L) to go to Galilee; there they will see me.”
