Psalm 92-100

Praise for the Lord’s Goodness.
A Psalm, a Song for the Sabbath day.
92 It is (A)good to give thanks to the Lord
And to (B)sing praises to Your name, Most High;
2 To (C)declare Your goodness in the morning
And Your (D)faithfulness by [a]night,
3 [b]With the (E)ten-stringed lute and [c]with the (F)harp,
[d]With resounding music on the (G)lyre.
4 For You, Lord, have made me joyful by [e]what You (H)have done,
I will (I)sing for joy over the (J)works of Your hands.
5 How (K)great are Your works, Lord!
Your [f](L)thoughts are very (M)deep.
6 A (N)stupid person has no knowledge,
Nor does a (O)foolish person understand this:
7 When the wicked (P)sprouted up like grass
And all (Q)who did injustice flourished,
It was only that they might be (R)destroyed forevermore.
8 But You, Lord, are (S)on high forever.
9 For, behold, Your enemies, Lord,
For, behold, (T)Your enemies will perish;
All who do injustice will be (U)scattered.
10 But You have exalted my (V)horn like that of the wild ox;
I have [g]been (W)anointed with fresh oil.
11 And my eye has (X)looked at my enemies,
My ears hear of the evildoers who rise up against me.
12 The (Y)righteous person will [h]flourish like the palm tree,
He will grow like a (Z)cedar in Lebanon.
13 (AA)Planted in the house of the Lord,
They will flourish (AB)in the courtyards of our God.
14 They will still [i](AC)yield fruit in advanced age;
They will be [j]full of sap and very green,
15 To [k]declare that (AD)the Lord is just;
He is my (AE)rock, and there is (AF)no malice in Him.
The Majesty of the Lord.
93 (AG)The Lord [l]reigns, He is (AH)clothed with majesty;
The Lord has (AI)clothed and encircled Himself with strength.
Indeed, the (AJ)world is firmly established; it will not be moved.
2 Your (AK)throne is established from of old;
You (AL)are from eternity.
3 The (AM)floods have lifted up, Lord,
The floods have lifted up their voice,
The floods lift up their pounding waves.
4 More than the sounds of many waters,
Than the mighty breakers of the sea,
The Lord (AN)on high is mighty.
5 Your (AO)testimonies are fully confirmed;
(AP)Holiness is pleasing to Your house,
Lord, [m]forevermore.
The Lord Implored to Avenge His People.
94 Lord, God of [n](AQ)vengeance,
God of [o]vengeance, [p](AR)shine forth!
2 (AS)Rise up, (AT)Judge of the earth,
Pay back retribution (AU)to the proud.
3 How long, Lord, shall the wicked—
How long shall the (AV)wicked triumph?
4 They pour out words, they (AW)speak arrogantly;
All who do injustice (AX)boast.
5 They (AY)crush Your people, Lord,
And (AZ)afflict Your inheritance.
6 They (BA)kill the widow and the stranger
And murder the orphans.
7 (BB)They have said, “[q]The Lord does not see,
Nor does the God of Jacob perceive.”
8 Pay attention, you (BC)stupid ones among the people;
And when will you understand, (BD)foolish ones?
9 He who (BE)planted the ear, [r]does He not hear?
Or He who formed the eye, [s]does He not see?
10 He who [t](BF)disciplines the nations, will He not rebuke,
He who (BG)teaches mankind knowledge?
11 The Lord (BH)knows human thoughts,
[u]That they are mere breath.
12 Blessed is the man whom (BI)You discipline, [v]Lord,
And (BJ)whom You teach from Your Law,
13 So that You may grant him (BK)relief from the (BL)days of adversity,
Until (BM)a pit is dug for the wicked.
14 For (BN)the Lord will not abandon His people,
Nor will He (BO)abandon His inheritance.
15 For [w](BP)judgment [x]will again be righteous,
And all the upright in heart [y]will follow it.
16 Who will (BQ)stand up for me against evildoers?
Who will take his stand for me (BR)against those who do injustice?
17 If (BS)the Lord had not been my help,
My soul would soon have dwelt in the land of silence.
18 If I should say, “(BT)My foot has slipped,”
Your faithfulness, Lord, will support me.
19 When my anxious thoughts [z]multiply within me,
Your (BU)comfort delights my soul.
20 Can a [aa](BV)throne of destruction be allied with You,
One (BW)which devises [ab]mischief by decree?
21 They (BX)band themselves together against the [ac]life of the righteous
And (BY)condemn [ad]the innocent to death.
22 But the Lord has been my (BZ)refuge,
And my God the (CA)rock of my refuge.
23 He has (CB)brought back their injustice upon them,
And He will [ae](CC)destroy them in their evil;
The Lord our God will [af]destroy them.
Praise to the Lord and Warning against Unbelief.
95 Come, let’s (CD)sing for joy to the Lord,
Let’s shout joyfully to (CE)the rock of our salvation.
2 Let’s (CF)come before His presence (CG)with a song of thanksgiving,
Let’s shout joyfully to Him (CH)in songs with instruments.
3 For the Lord is a (CI)great God
And a great King (CJ)above all gods,
4 In whose hand are the (CK)depths of the earth,
The peaks of the mountains are also His.
5 [ag]The sea is His, for it was He (CL)who made it,
And His hands formed the dry land.
6 Come, let’s (CM)worship and bow down,
Let’s (CN)kneel before the Lord our (CO)Maker.
7 For He is our God,
And (CP)we are the people of His [ah](CQ)pasture and the sheep of His hand.
(CR)Today, [ai]if you will hear His voice,
8 Do not harden your hearts as at [aj](CS)Meribah,
As on the day of [ak](CT)Massah in the wilderness,
9 “When your fathers (CU)put Me to the test,
They tested Me, though they had seen My work.
10 For (CV)forty years I was disgusted with that generation,
And said they are a people who err in their heart,
And they do not know My ways.
11 Therefore I (CW)swore in My anger,
They certainly shall not enter My (CX)rest.”
A Call to Worship the Lord the Righteous Judge.
96 (CY)Sing to the Lord a (CZ)new song;
Sing to the Lord, all the earth.
2 Sing to the Lord, bless His name;
(DA)Proclaim the good news of His salvation from day to day.
3 Tell of (DB)His glory among the nations,
His wonderful deeds among all the peoples.
4 For (DC)great is the Lord, and (DD)greatly to be praised;
He is to be (DE)feared (DF)above all gods.
5 For (DG)all the gods of the peoples are [al]idols,
But (DH)the Lord made the heavens.
6 (DI)Splendor and majesty are before Him,
Strength and beauty are in His sanctuary.
7 [am]Ascribe to the Lord, you (DJ)families of the peoples,
[an](DK)Ascribe to the Lord glory and strength.
8 [ao]Ascribe to the Lord the (DL)glory of His name;
Bring an [ap](DM)offering and come into His courtyards.
9 (DN)Worship the Lord in [aq]holy attire;
(DO)Tremble before Him, all the earth.
10 Say among the nations, “(DP)The Lord reigns;
Indeed, the (DQ)world is firmly established, it will not be moved;
He will (DR)judge the peoples fairly.”
11 May the (DS)heavens be joyful, and may the (DT)earth rejoice;
May (DU)the sea [ar]roar, and [as]all it contains;
12 May the (DV)field be jubilant, and all that is in it.
Then all the (DW)trees of the forest will sing for joy
13 Before the Lord, (DX)for He is coming,
For He is coming to judge the earth.
(DY)He will judge the world in righteousness,
And the peoples in His faithfulness.
The Lord’s Power and Dominion.
97 (DZ)The Lord [at]reigns, may the (EA)earth rejoice;
May the many [au](EB)islands be joyful.
2 (EC)Clouds and thick darkness surround Him;
(ED)Righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne.
3 (EE)Fire goes before Him
And (EF)burns up His enemies all around.
4 His (EG)lightning lit up the world;
The earth saw it and (EH)trembled.
5 The mountains (EI)melted like wax at the presence of the Lord,
At the presence of the (EJ)Lord of the whole earth.
6 The (EK)heavens declare His righteousness,
And (EL)all the peoples have seen His glory.
7 May all those be ashamed who serve (EM)carved images,
Who boast in (EN)idols;
[av](EO)Worship Him, all you [aw]gods.
8 Zion [ax]heard this and (EP)was joyful,
And the daughters of Judah have rejoiced
Because of Your judgments, Lord.
9 For You are the Lord (EQ)Most High over all the earth;
You are exalted far (ER)above all [ay]gods.
10 (ES)Hate evil, you who love the Lord,
Who (ET)watches over the souls of His godly ones;
He (EU)saves them from the hand of the wicked.
11 (EV)Light is sown like seed for the righteous,
And (EW)gladness for the upright in heart.
12 Be (EX)joyful in the Lord, you righteous ones,
And (EY)praise [az]the mention of His holy name.
A Call to Praise the Lord for His Righteousness.
A Psalm.
98 Sing a (EZ)new song to the Lord,
For He has done (FA)wonderful things,
His (FB)right hand and His (FC)holy arm have [ba]gained the victory for Him.
2 (FD)The Lord has made His salvation known;
He has (FE)revealed His righteousness in the sight of the nations.
3 He has (FF)remembered His graciousness and His faithfulness to the house of Israel;
(FG)All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.
4 (FH)Shout joyfully to the Lord, all the earth;
(FI)Be cheerful and sing for joy and sing praises.
5 Sing praises to the Lord with the (FJ)lyre,
With the lyre and the [bb](FK)sound of melody.
6 With (FL)trumpets and the sound of the horn
(FM)Shout joyfully before (FN)the King, the Lord.
7 May the (FO)sea roar and [bc]all it contains,
The (FP)world and those who dwell in it.
8 May the (FQ)rivers clap their hands,
May the (FR)mountains sing together for joy
9 Before the Lord, for He is coming to (FS)judge the earth;
He will judge the world with righteousness
And (FT)the peoples with fairness.
Praise to the Lord for His Faithfulness to Israel.
99 (FU)The Lord reigns, [bd]the peoples tremble!
He (FV)sits enthroned above the cherubim, [be]the earth quakes!
2 The Lord [bf]is (FW)great in Zion,
And He is (FX)exalted above all the peoples.
3 May they praise Your (FY)great and awesome name;
(FZ)Holy is [bg]He.
4 The [bh]strength of the King (GA)loves [bi]justice;
You have established [bj](GB)order;
You have (GC)executed [bk]justice and righteousness in Jacob.
5 [bl](GD)Exalt the Lord our God
And (GE)worship at His footstool;
(GF)Holy is He.
6 (GG)Moses and Aaron were among His (GH)priests,
And (GI)Samuel was among those who (GJ)called on His name;
They (GK)called upon the Lord and He answered them.
7 He (GL)spoke to them in the pillar of cloud;
They (GM)kept His testimonies
And the statute that He gave them.
8 Lord our God, You (GN)answered them;
You were a (GO)forgiving God to them,
And yet an (GP)avenger of their evil deeds.
9 Exalt the Lord our God
And worship at His holy hill,
For the Lord our God is holy.

And His courtyards with praise.
Give thanks to Him, (GX)bless His name.
