⁵ Blessed are those whose strength^(A) is in you,
    whose hearts are set on pilgrimage.^(B)
6 As they pass through the Valley of Baka,
    they make it a place of springs;^(C)
    the autumn^(D) rains also cover it with pools.^[b]
7 They go from strength to strength,^(E)
    till each appears^(F) before God in Zion.^(G)

⁸ Hear my prayer,^(H) Lord God Almighty;
    listen to me, God of Jacob.
⁹ Look on our shield,^[c](I) O God;
    look with favor on your anointed one.^(J)

¹⁰ Better is one day in your courts
    than a thousand elsewhere;
I would rather be a doorkeeper^(K) in the house of my God
    than dwell in the tents of the wicked.
¹¹ For the Lord God is a sun^(L) and shield;^(M)
    the Lord bestows favor and honor;
no good thing does he withhold^(N)
    from those whose walk is blameless.

¹² Lord Almighty,
    blessed^(O) is the one who trusts in you.

¹² Blessed is the one you discipline,^(A) Lord,
    the one you teach^(B) from your law;

³ Blessed are those who act justly,^(A)
    who always do what is right.^(B)

³⁸ he blessed them, and their numbers greatly increased,^(A)
    and he did not let their herds diminish.^(B)
