Psalm 55:12-23

¹²For it is ^(A)not an enemy who taunts me,
Then I could endure it;
Nor is it one who hates me who ^(B)has exalted himself against me,
Then I could hide myself from him.
¹³But it is you, a man ^[a]my equal,
My ^(C)companion and my ^(D)confidant;
¹⁴We who had sweet ^[b]fellowship together,
^(E)Walked in the house of God among the commotion.
¹⁵May ^[c]death come ^(F)deceitfully upon them;
May they ^(G)go down alive to ^[d]Sheol,
For evil is in their dwelling, in their midst.

¹⁶As for me, I shall ^(H)call upon God,
And the Lord will save me.
¹⁷^(I)Evening and ^(J)morning and at ^(K)noon, I will complain and moan,
And He will hear my voice.
¹⁸He will ^(L)redeem my soul in peace ^[e]from the battle which is against me,
For they are ^(M)many who are aggressive toward me.
¹⁹God will ^(N)hear and humiliate them—
Even the one ^(O)who ^[f]sits enthroned from ancient times— Selah
With whom there ^[g]is no change,
And who ^(P)do not fear God.
²⁰He has put forth his hands against ^(Q)those who were at peace with him;
He has ^[h]^(R)violated his covenant.
²¹His ^[i]speech was ^(S)smoother than butter,
But his heart was war;
His words were ^(T)softer than oil,
Yet they were drawn ^(U)swords.

²²^(V)Cast your burden upon the Lord and He will sustain you;
^(W)He will never allow the righteous to ^[j]^(X)be shaken.
²³But You, God, will bring them down to the ^(Y)pit of destruction;
^(Z)Men of bloodshed and deceit will ^(AA)not live out half their days.
But I will ^(AB)trust in You.
