Psalm 44:16

¹⁶at the words of the taunters and revilers,
at the sight of the enemy and the avenger.^(A)

New International Version

¹⁶at the taunts^(A) of those who reproach and revile^(B) me,
because of the enemy, who is bent on revenge.^(C)

¹⁶and said to him, “Do you hear what these are saying?” Jesus said to them, “Yes; have you never read,

‘Out of the mouths of infants and nursing babies
you have prepared praise for yourself’?”^(A)

¹⁶“Do you hear what these children are saying?” they asked him.

“Yes,” replied Jesus, “have you never read,

“‘From the lips of children and infants
you, Lord, have called forth your praise’^[a]?”^(A)
