(A)You have not desired [a]sacrifice and meal offering;
You have [b]opened my ears;
You have not required burnt offering and sin offering.
Then I said, “Behold, I have come;
It is [c]written of me in the scroll of the book.
(B)I delight to do Your will, my God;
(C)Your Law is within my [d]heart.”

I have (D)proclaimed good news of righteousness in the great congregation;
Behold, I will (E)not restrain my lips,
Lord, (F)You know.
10 I have (G)not hidden Your righteousness within my heart;
I have (H)spoken of Your faithfulness and Your salvation;
I have not concealed Your mercy and Your truth from the great congregation.

11 You, Lord, will not withhold Your compassion from me;
[e]Your (I)mercy and Your truth will continually watch over me.
12 For evils beyond number have (J)surrounded me;
My (K)guilty deeds have overtaken me, so that I am not able to see;
They are (L)more numerous than the hairs of my head,
And my (M)heart has [f]failed me.

13 (N)Be pleased, Lord, to rescue me;
(O)Hurry, Lord, to help me.
14 May those be (P)ashamed and humiliated together
Who (Q)seek my [g]life to destroy it;
May those be turned back and dishonored
Who delight [h]in my hurt.
15 May those (R)be [i]appalled because of their shame
Who (S)say to me, “Aha, aha!”
16 (T)May all who seek You rejoice and be glad in You;
May those who love Your salvation continually (U)say,
“The Lord be exalted!”
17 But (V)I am afflicted and needy;
(W)May the Lord be mindful of me.
You are my help and my savior;
Do not delay, my God.

The Passover Lamb

12 Now the Lord said to Moses and Aaron in the land of [a]Egypt, (A)This month shall be the beginning of months for you; it is to be the first month of the year for you. Speak to all the congregation of Israel, saying, ‘On the tenth of this month they are, each one, to take a [b]lamb for themselves, according to the fathers’ households, a [c]lamb for [d]each household. Now if the household is too small for a [e]lamb, then he and his neighbor nearest to his house are to take one according to the [f]number of persons in them; in proportion to [g]what each one should eat, you are to [h]divide the lamb. Your [i]lamb shall be (B)an unblemished male a year old; you may take it from the sheep or from the goats. [j]You shall keep it until the (C)fourteenth day of the same month, then the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel is to slaughter it [k](D)at twilight. (E)Moreover, they shall take some of the blood and put it on the two doorposts and on the lintel [l]of the houses in which they eat it. They shall eat the flesh (F)that same night, (G)roasted with fire, and they shall eat it with (H)unleavened bread [m](I)and bitter herbs. Do not eat any of it raw or boiled at all with water, but rather (J)roasted with fire, both its head and its legs along with (K)its entrails. 10 (L)And you shall not leave any of it over until morning, but whatever is left of it until morning, you shall completely burn with fire. 11 Now you shall eat it in this way: with your garment [n]belted around your waist, your sandals on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and you shall eat it in a hurry—it is (M)the Lords Passover. 12 For (N)I will go through the land of Egypt on that night, and fatally strike all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the human firstborn to animals; and (O)against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgments—(P)I am the Lord. 13 (Q)The blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you [o]live; and when I see the blood I will pass over you, and no plague will come upon you [p]to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt.

21 Then (A)Moses called for all the elders of Israel and said to them, “Go and (B)take for yourselves [a]lambs according to your families, and slaughter (C)the Passover lamb. 22 And (D)you shall take a bunch of hyssop and dip it in the blood which is in the basin, and [b]apply some of the blood that is in the basin to the lintel and the two doorposts; and none of you shall go outside the door of his house until morning.

A Memorial of Redemption

23 For (E)the Lord will pass through to strike the Egyptians; but when He sees the blood on the lintel and on the two doorposts, the Lord will pass over the door and will (F)not allow the (G)destroyer to come in to your houses to strike you. 24 And (H)you shall keep this event as an ordinance for you and your children forever. 25 When you enter the land which the Lord will give you, as He has [c]promised, you shall keep this [d]rite. 26 (I)And when your children say to you, ‘[e]What does this rite mean to you?’ 27 then you shall say, ‘It is a Passover sacrifice to (J)the Lord because He passed over the houses of the sons of Israel in Egypt when He struck the Egyptians, but [f]spared our homes.’” (K)And the people bowed low and worshiped.

28 Then the sons of Israel went and did so; just as the Lord had commanded Moses and Aaron, so they did.

26 But (A)an angel of the Lord spoke to (B)Philip, saying, “Get ready and go [a]south to the road that descends from Jerusalem to (C)Gaza.” ([b]This is a desert road.) 27 So he got ready and went; and [c](D)there was an Ethiopian eunuch, a court official of [d]Candace, queen of the Ethiopians, who was in charge of all her treasure; and he (E)had come to Jerusalem to worship, 28 and he was returning and sitting in his [e]chariot, and was reading Isaiah the prophet. 29 Then (F)the Spirit said to Philip, “Go up and join this [f]chariot.” 30 Philip ran up and heard him reading Isaiah the prophet, and said, “Do you understand what you are reading?” 31 And he said, “Well, how could I, unless someone guides me?” And he invited Philip to come up and sit with him. 32 Now the passage of Scripture which he was reading was this:

(G)He was led like a sheep to slaughter;
And like a lamb that is silent before its shearer,
So He does not open His mouth.
33 (H)In humiliation His justice was taken away;
Who will [g]describe His [h]generation?
For His life is taken away from the earth.”

34 The eunuch answered Philip and said, “Please tell me, of whom does the prophet say this? Of himself, or of someone else?” 35 Then Philip (I)opened his mouth, and (J)beginning from this Scripture he (K)preached Jesus to him. 36 As they went along the road they came to some water; and the eunuch *said, “Look! Water! (L)What prevents me from being baptized?”[i] 38 And he ordered that the [j]chariot stop; and they both went down into the water, Philip as well as the eunuch, and he baptized him. 39 When they came up out of the water, (M)the Spirit of the Lord snatched Philip away; and the eunuch no longer saw him, [k]but went on his way rejoicing. 40 But Philip [l]found himself at [m](N)Azotus, and as he passed through he (O)kept preaching the gospel to all the cities, until he came to (P)Caesarea.
