Psalm 22:16-31
New King James Version
16 For dogs have surrounded Me;
The congregation of the wicked has enclosed Me.
(A)They[a] pierced My hands and My feet;
17 I can count all My bones.
(B)They look and stare at Me.
18 (C)They divide My garments among them,
And for My clothing they cast lots.
19 But You, O Lord, do not be far from Me;
O My Strength, hasten to help Me!
20 Deliver Me from the sword,
(D)My[b] precious life from the power of the dog.
21 (E)Save Me from the lion’s mouth
And from the horns of the wild oxen!
(F)You have answered Me.
22 (G)I will declare Your name to (H)My brethren;
In the midst of the assembly I will praise You.
23 (I)You who fear the Lord, praise Him!
All you [c]descendants of Jacob, glorify Him,
And fear Him, all you offspring of Israel!
24 For He has not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted;
Nor has He hidden His face from Him;
But (J)when He cried to Him, He heard.
25 (K)My praise shall be of You in the great assembly;
(L)I will pay My vows before those who fear Him.
26 The poor shall eat and be satisfied;
Those who seek Him will praise the Lord.
Let your heart live forever!
27 All the ends of the world
Shall remember and turn to the Lord,
And all the families of the [d]nations
Shall worship before [e]You.
28 (M)For the kingdom is the Lord’s,
And He rules over the nations.
29 (N)All the prosperous of the earth
Shall eat and worship;
(O)All those who go down to [f]the dust
Shall bow before Him,
Even he who cannot keep himself alive.
30 A posterity shall serve Him.
It will be recounted of the Lord to the next generation,
31 They will come and declare His righteousness to a people who will be born,
That He has done this.

16 Dogs(A) surround me,
a pack of villains encircles me;
they pierce[a](B) my hands and my feet.
17 All my bones are on display;
people stare(C) and gloat over me.(D)
18 They divide my clothes among them
and cast lots(E) for my garment.(F)
19 But you, Lord, do not be far from me.(G)
You are my strength;(H) come quickly(I) to help me.(J)
20 Deliver me from the sword,(K)
my precious life(L) from the power of the dogs.(M)
21 Rescue me from the mouth of the lions;(N)
save me from the horns of the wild oxen.(O)
22 I will declare your name to my people;
in the assembly(P) I will praise you.(Q)
23 You who fear the Lord, praise him!(R)
All you descendants of Jacob, honor him!(S)
Revere him,(T) all you descendants of Israel!
24 For he has not despised(U) or scorned
the suffering of the afflicted one;(V)
he has not hidden his face(W) from him
but has listened to his cry for help.(X)
25 From you comes the theme of my praise in the great assembly;(Y)
before those who fear you[b] I will fulfill my vows.(Z)
26 The poor will eat(AA) and be satisfied;
those who seek the Lord will praise him—(AB)
may your hearts live forever!
27 All the ends of the earth(AC)
will remember and turn to the Lord,
and all the families of the nations
will bow down before him,(AD)
28 for dominion belongs to the Lord(AE)
and he rules over the nations.
29 All the rich(AF) of the earth will feast and worship;(AG)
all who go down to the dust(AH) will kneel before him—
those who cannot keep themselves alive.(AI)
30 Posterity(AJ) will serve him;
future generations(AK) will be told about the Lord.
31 They will proclaim his righteousness,(AL)
declaring to a people yet unborn:(AM)
He has done it!(AN)
