28 He (A)sent darkness and made it dark;
And they did not (B)rebel against His words.
29 He (C)turned their waters into blood,
And caused their fish to die.
30 Their land swarmed with (D)frogs
Even in the (E)chambers of their kings.
31 He spoke, and a (F)swarm of flies
And (G)gnats invaded all their territory.
32 He [a]gave them (H)hail for rain,
And flaming fire in their land.
33 He also (I)struck their vines and their fig trees,
And smashed the trees of their territory.
34 He spoke, and (J)locusts came,
And creeping locusts, beyond number,
35 And they ate all the vegetation in their land,
And ate the fruit of their ground.
36 He also (K)fatally struck all the firstborn in their land,
The (L)first fruits of all their vigor.
37 Then He brought [b]the Israelites out with (M)silver and gold,
And among His tribes there was not one who stumbled.
38 Egypt was (N)glad when they departed,
For the (O)dread of them had fallen upon [c]the Egyptians.

New International Version
28 He sent darkness(A) and made the land dark—
for had they not rebelled against(B) his words?
29 He turned their waters into blood,(C)
causing their fish to die.(D)
30 Their land teemed with frogs,(E)
which went up into the bedrooms of their rulers.
31 He spoke,(F) and there came swarms of flies,(G)
and gnats(H) throughout their country.
32 He turned their rain into hail,(I)
with lightning throughout their land;
33 he struck down their vines(J) and fig trees(K)
and shattered the trees of their country.
34 He spoke,(L) and the locusts came,(M)
grasshoppers(N) without number;(O)
35 they ate up every green thing in their land,
ate up the produce of their soil.
36 Then he struck down all the firstborn(P) in their land,
the firstfruits of all their manhood.
37 He brought out Israel, laden with silver and gold,(Q)
and from among their tribes no one faltered.
38 Egypt was glad when they left,
because dread of Israel(R) had fallen on them.
