Psalm 91-99

⁵ You ^(L)will not be afraid of the ^(M)terror by night,
Or of the ^(N)arrow that flies by day;
⁶ Of the ^(O)plague that ^[a]stalks in darkness,
Or of the ^(P)destruction that devastates at noon.
⁷ A thousand may fall at your side
And ten thousand at your right hand,
But ^(Q)it shall not approach you.
⁸ You will only look on with your eyes
And ^(R)see the retaliation against the wicked.
^9 [b]For you have made the Lord, ^(S)my refuge,
The Most High, ^(T)your dwelling place.
^10 (U)No evil will happen to you,
Nor will any plague come near your ^[c]tent.

¹¹ For He will give ^(V)His angels orders concerning you,
To protect you in all your ways.
¹² On their hands they will ^(W)lift you up,
So that you do not strike your foot against a stone.
¹³ You will ^(X)walk upon the lion and cobra,
You will trample the young lion and the ^[d]serpent.

¹⁴ “^(Y)Because he has loved Me, I will save him;
I will ^(Z)set him securely on high, because he has ^(AA)known My name.
¹⁵ He will ^(AB)call upon Me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in ^[e]trouble;
I will rescue him and ^(AC)honor him.
¹⁶ I will satisfy him with ^[f]a ^(AD)long life,
And ^[g](AE)show him My salvation.”

⁵ How ^(AP)great are Your works, Lord!
Your ^[m](AQ)thoughts are very ^(AR)deep.
⁶ A ^(AS)stupid person has no knowledge,
Nor does a ^(AT)foolish person understand this:
⁷ When the wicked ^(AU)sprouted up like grass
And all ^(AV)who did injustice flourished,
It was only that they might be ^(AW)destroyed forevermore.
⁸ But You, Lord, are ^(AX)on high forever.
⁹ For, behold, Your enemies, Lord,
For, behold, ^(AY)Your enemies will perish;
All who do injustice will be ^(AZ)scattered.

¹⁰ But You have exalted my ^(BA)horn like that of the wild ox;
I have ^[n]been ^(BB)anointed with fresh oil.
¹¹ And my eye has ^(BC)looked at my enemies,
My ears hear of the evildoers who rise up against me.
¹² The ^(BD)righteous person will ^[o]flourish like the palm tree,
He will grow like a ^(BE)cedar in Lebanon.
^13 (BF)Planted in the house of the Lord,
They will flourish ^(BG)in the courtyards of our God.
¹⁴ They will still ^[p](BH)yield fruit in advanced age;
They will be ^[q]full of sap and very green,
¹⁵ To ^[r]declare that ^(BI)the Lord is just;
He is my ^(BJ)rock, and there is ^(BK)no malice in Him.

³ The ^(BR)floods have lifted up, Lord,
The floods have lifted up their voice,
The floods lift up their pounding waves.
⁴ More than the sounds of many waters,
Than the mighty breakers of the sea,
The Lord ^(BS)on high is mighty.
⁵ Your ^(BT)testimonies are fully confirmed;
^(BU)Holiness is pleasing to Your house,
Lord, ^[t]forevermore.

⁸ Pay attention, you ^(CH)stupid ones among the people;
And when will you understand, ^(CI)foolish ones?
⁹ He who ^(CJ)planted the ear, ^[y]does He not hear?
Or He who formed the eye, ^[z]does He not see?
¹⁰ He who ^[aa](CK)disciplines the nations, will He not rebuke,
He who ^(CL)teaches mankind knowledge?
¹¹ The Lord ^(CM)knows human thoughts,
^[ab]That they are mere breath.

¹² Blessed is the man whom ^(CN)You discipline, ^[ac]Lord,
And ^(CO)whom You teach from Your Law,
¹³ So that You may grant him ^(CP)relief from the ^(CQ)days of adversity,
Until ^(CR)a pit is dug for the wicked.
¹⁴ For ^(CS)the Lord will not abandon His people,
Nor will He ^(CT)abandon His inheritance.
¹⁵ For ^[ad](CU)judgment ^[ae]will again be righteous,
And all the upright in heart ^[af]will follow it.
¹⁶ Who will ^(CV)stand up for me against evildoers?
Who will take his stand for me ^(CW)against those who do injustice?

¹⁷ If ^(CX)the Lord had not been my help,
My soul would soon have dwelt in the land of silence.
¹⁸ If I should say, “^(CY)My foot has slipped,”
Your faithfulness, Lord, will support me.
¹⁹ When my anxious thoughts ^[ag]multiply within me,
Your ^(CZ)comfort delights my soul.
²⁰ Can a ^[ah](DA)throne of destruction be allied with You,
One ^(DB)which devises ^[ai]mischief by decree?
²¹ They ^(DC)band themselves together against the ^[aj]life of the righteous
And ^(DD)condemn ^[ak]the innocent to death.
²² But the Lord has been my ^(DE)refuge,
And my God the ^(DF)rock of my refuge.
²³ He has ^(DG)brought back their injustice upon them,
And He will ^[al](DH)destroy them in their evil;
The Lord our God will ^[am]destroy them.

⁶ Come, let’s ^(DR)worship and bow down,
Let’s ^(DS)kneel before the Lord our ^(DT)Maker.
⁷ For He is our God,
And ^(DU)we are the people of His ^[ao](DV)pasture and the sheep of His hand.
^(DW)Today, ^[ap]if you will hear His voice,
⁸ Do not harden your hearts as at ^[aq](DX)Meribah,
As on the day of ^[ar](DY)Massah in the wilderness,
⁹ “When your fathers ^(DZ)put Me to the test,
They tested Me, though they had seen My work.
¹⁰ For ^(EA)forty years I was disgusted with that generation,
And said they are a people who err in their heart,
And they do not know My ways.
¹¹ Therefore I ^(EB)swore in My anger,
They certainly shall not enter My ^(EC)rest.”

^7 [at]Ascribe to the Lord, you ^(EO)families of the peoples,
^[au](EP)Ascribe to the Lord glory and strength.
^8 [av]Ascribe to the Lord the ^(EQ)glory of His name;
Bring an ^[aw](ER)offering and come into His courtyards.
^9 (ES)Worship the Lord in ^[ax]holy attire;
^(ET)Tremble before Him, all the earth.
¹⁰ Say among the nations, “^(EU)The Lord reigns;
Indeed, the ^(EV)world is firmly established, it will not be moved;
He will ^(EW)judge the peoples fairly.”

¹¹ May the ^(EX)heavens be joyful, and may the ^(EY)earth rejoice;
May ^(EZ)the sea ^[ay]roar, and ^[az]all it contains;
¹² May the ^(FA)field be jubilant, and all that is in it.
Then all the ^(FB)trees of the forest will sing for joy
¹³ Before the Lord, ^(FC)for He is coming,
For He is coming to judge the earth.
^(FD)He will judge the world in righteousness,
And the peoples in His faithfulness.

⁷ May all those be ashamed who serve ^(FR)carved images,
Who boast in ^(FS)idols;
^[bc](FT)Worship Him, all you ^[bd]gods.
⁸ Zion ^[be]heard this and ^(FU)was joyful,
And the daughters of Judah have rejoiced
Because of Your judgments, Lord.
⁹ For You are the Lord ^(FV)Most High over all the earth;
You are exalted far ^(FW)above all ^[bf]gods.

^10 (FX)Hate evil, you who love the Lord,
Who ^(FY)watches over the souls of His godly ones;
He ^(FZ)saves them from the hand of the wicked.
^11 (GA)Light is sown like seed for the righteous,
And ^(GB)gladness for the upright in heart.
¹² Be ^(GC)joyful in the Lord, you righteous ones,
And ^(GD)praise ^[bg]the mention of His holy name.

^4 (GM)Shout joyfully to the Lord, all the earth;
^(GN)Be cheerful and sing for joy and sing praises.
⁵ Sing praises to the Lord with the ^(GO)lyre,
With the lyre and the ^[bi](GP)sound of melody.
⁶ With ^(GQ)trumpets and the sound of the horn
^(GR)Shout joyfully before ^(GS)the King, the Lord.

⁷ May the ^(GT)sea roar and ^[bj]all it contains,
The ^(GU)world and those who dwell in it.
⁸ May the ^(GV)rivers clap their hands,
May the ^(GW)mountains sing together for joy
⁹ Before the Lord, for He is coming to ^(GX)judge the earth;
He will judge the world with righteousness
And ^(GY)the peoples with fairness.

^6 (HL)Moses and Aaron were among His ^(HM)priests,
And ^(HN)Samuel was among those who ^(HO)called on His name;
They ^(HP)called upon the Lord and He answered them.
⁷ He ^(HQ)spoke to them in the pillar of cloud;
They ^(HR)kept His testimonies
And the statute that He gave them.
⁸ Lord our God, You ^(HS)answered them;
You were a ^(HT)forgiving God to them,
And yet an ^(HU)avenger of their evil deeds.
⁹ Exalt the Lord our God
And worship at His holy hill,
For the Lord our God is holy.
