Lamedh

89 (A)Forever, Lord,
Your word stands in heaven.
90 Your (B)faithfulness continues [a]throughout generations;
You (C)established the earth, and it (D)stands.
91 They stand this day by Your (E)ordinances,
For (F)all things are Your servants.
92 If Your Law had not been my (G)delight,
Then I would have perished (H)in my misery.
93 I will (I)never forget Your precepts,
For by them You have [b](J)revived me.
94 I am Yours, (K)save me;
For I have (L)sought Your precepts.
95 The wicked (M)wait for me to destroy me;
I will diligently consider Your testimonies.
96 I have seen [c]a limit to all perfection;
Your commandment is exceedingly broad.

Mem

97 How I (N)love Your Law!
It is my (O)meditation all the day.
98 Your (P)commandments make me wiser than my enemies,
For they are ever [d]mine.
99 I have more insight than all my teachers,
For Your testimonies are my (Q)meditation.
100 I understand (R)more than those who are old,
Because I have (S)complied with Your precepts.
101 I have (T)restrained my feet from every evil way,
So that I may keep Your word.
102 I have not (U)turned aside from Your judgments,
For You Yourself have taught me.
103 How (V)sweet are Your [e]words to my [f]taste!
Yes, sweeter than honey to my mouth!
104 From Your precepts I (W)get understanding;
Therefore I (X)hate every false way.

Nun

105 Your word is a (Y)lamp to my feet
And a light to my path.
106 I have (Z)sworn and I will confirm it,
That I will keep Your righteous judgments.
107 I am exceedingly (AA)afflicted;
[g](AB)Revive me, Lord, according to Your word.
108 Be pleased to accept the (AC)[h]voluntary offerings of my mouth, Lord,
And (AD)teach me Your judgments.
109 My [i](AE)life is continually [j]in my hand,
Yet I do not (AF)forget Your Law.
110 The wicked have (AG)set a [k]trap for me,
Yet I have not (AH)wandered from Your precepts.
111 I have (AI)inherited Your testimonies forever,
For they are the (AJ)joy of my heart.
112 I have (AK)inclined my heart to perform Your statutes
Forever, even (AL)to the end.

Samekh

113 I hate those who are (AM)double-minded,
But I love Your (AN)Law.
114 You are my (AO)hiding place and my (AP)shield;
I [l](AQ)wait for Your word.
115 (AR)Leave me, you evildoers,
So that I may (AS)comply with the commandments of my God.
116 (AT)Sustain me according to Your [m]word, that I may live;
And (AU)do not let me be [n]ashamed of my hope.
117 Sustain me so that I may be (AV)safe,
That I may (AW)have regard for Your statutes continually.
118 You have [o]rejected all those (AX)who stray from Your statutes,
For their deceitfulness is [p]useless.
119 You have [q]removed all the wicked of the earth like [r](AY)impurities;
Therefore I (AZ)love Your testimonies.
120 My flesh [s](BA)trembles from the fear of You,
And I am (BB)afraid of Your judgments.

Ayin

121 I have (BC)done justice and righteousness;
Do not leave me to my oppressors.
122 Be (BD)a guarantor for Your servant for good;
Do not let the arrogant (BE)oppress me.
123 My (BF)eyes fail with longing for Your salvation,
And for Your righteous [t]word.
124 Deal with Your servant (BG)according to Your graciousness,
And (BH)teach me Your statutes.
125 (BI)I am Your servant; (BJ)give me understanding,
So that I may know Your testimonies.
126 It is time for the Lord to (BK)act,
For they have broken Your Law.
127 Therefore I (BL)love Your commandments
Above gold, yes, above pure gold.
128 Therefore I carefully follow all Your (BM)precepts concerning everything,
I (BN)hate every false way.

Pe

129 Your testimonies are (BO)wonderful;
Therefore my soul (BP)complies with them.
130 The (BQ)unfolding of Your words gives light;
It gives (BR)understanding to the simple.
131 I (BS)opened my mouth wide and (BT)panted,
For I (BU)longed for Your commandments.
132 (BV)Turn to me and be gracious to me,
As is right for those who love Your name.
133 Establish my (BW)footsteps in Your [u]word,
And do not let any [v]wrongdoing (BX)have power over me.
134 (BY)Redeem me from oppression by man,
So that I may keep Your precepts.
135 (BZ)Make Your face shine upon Your servant,
And (CA)teach me Your statutes.
136 My eyes [w]shed (CB)streams of water,
Because they (CC)do not keep Your Law.

Tsadhe

137 (CD)You are righteous, Lord,
And Your judgments are right.
138 You have commanded Your testimonies in (CE)righteousness
And great (CF)faithfulness.
139 My (CG)zeal has [x]consumed me,
Because my enemies have forgotten Your words.
140 Your (CH)word is very [y]pure,
Therefore Your servant (CI)loves it.
141 I am small and (CJ)despised,
Yet I do not (CK)forget Your precepts.
142 Your righteousness is an everlasting righteousness,
And (CL)Your Law is truth.
143 Trouble and anguish have [z]come upon me,
Yet Your commandments are my (CM)delight.
144 Your (CN)testimonies are righteous forever;
(CO)Give me understanding that I may live.

Qoph

145 I cried out (CP)with all my heart; answer me, Lord!
I will (CQ)comply with Your statutes.
146 I cried to You; (CR)save me
And I shall keep Your testimonies.
147 I [aa](CS)rise before dawn and cry for help;
I [ab]wait for Your words.
148 My eyes anticipate the (CT)night watches,
So that I may (CU)meditate on Your [ac]word.
149 Hear my voice (CV)according to Your faithfulness;
(CW)Revive me, Lord, according to Your judgments.
150 Those who follow after wickedness approach;
They are far from Your Law.
151 You are (CX)near, Lord,
And all Your commandments are (CY)truth.
152 From long ago I have (CZ)known from Your testimonies
That You have founded them (DA)forever.

Resh

153 (DB)Look at my (DC)affliction and rescue me,
For I have not (DD)forgotten Your Law.
154 (DE)Plead my cause and (DF)redeem me;
Revive me according to Your [ad]word.
155 Salvation is (DG)far from the wicked,
For they (DH)do not seek Your statutes.
156 [ae](DI)Great are Your mercies, Lord;
Revive me according to Your judgments.
157 Many are my (DJ)persecutors and my enemies,
Yet I do not (DK)turn aside from Your testimonies.
158 I see the (DL)treacherous and (DM)loathe them,
Because they do not keep Your word.
159 Consider how I (DN)love Your precepts;
(DO)Revive me, Lord, according to Your faithfulness.
160 The (DP)sum of Your word is (DQ)truth,
And every one of Your righteous judgments (DR)is everlasting.

Shin

161 (DS)Rulers persecute me without cause,
But my heart (DT)stands in awe of Your words.
162 I (DU)rejoice at Your [af]word,
Like one who (DV)finds great plunder.
163 I (DW)hate and loathe falsehood,
But I (DX)love Your Law.
164 Seven times a day I praise You
Because of Your (DY)righteous judgments.
165 Those who love Your Law have (DZ)great peace,
And [ag](EA)nothing causes them to stumble.
166 I (EB)hope for Your salvation, Lord,
And do Your commandments.
167 My (EC)soul keeps Your testimonies,
And I (ED)love them exceedingly.
168 I (EE)keep Your precepts and Your testimonies,
For all my (EF)ways are before You.

Tav

169 Let my (EG)cry [ah]come before You, Lord;
(EH)Give me understanding (EI)according to Your word.
170 Let my (EJ)pleading come before You;
(EK)Save me according to Your [ai]word.
171 Let my (EL)lips pour out praise,
For You (EM)teach me Your statutes.
172 Let my (EN)tongue sing about Your [aj]word,
For all Your (EO)commandments are righteousness.
173 Let Your (EP)hand be [ak]ready to help me,
For I have (EQ)chosen Your precepts.
174 I (ER)long for Your salvation, Lord,
And Your Law is my (ES)delight.
175 Let my (ET)soul live that it may praise You,
And let Your ordinances help me.
176 I have (EU)wandered about like a lost sheep; search for Your servant,
For I do (EV)not forget Your commandments.

Miracle at Cana

On (A)the third day there was a wedding in (B)Cana of Galilee, and the (C)mother of Jesus was there; and both Jesus and His (D)disciples were invited to the wedding. When the wine ran out, the mother of Jesus *said to Him, “They have no wine.” And Jesus *said to her, [a](E)What business do you have with Me, (F)woman? (G)My hour has not yet come.” His (H)mother *said to the servants, “Whatever He tells you, do it.” Now there were six stone waterpots standing there (I)for the Jewish custom of purification, containing [b]two or three measures each. Jesus *said to them, “Fill the waterpots with water.” So they filled them up to the brim. And He *said to them, “Draw some out now and take it to the [c]headwaiter.” And they took it to him. Now when the headwaiter tasted the water (J)which had become wine, and did not know where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the headwaiter *called the groom, 10 and *said to him, “Every man serves the good wine first, and when the guests (K)are drunk, then he serves the poorer wine; but you have kept the good wine until now.” 11 This beginning of His [d](L)signs Jesus did in Cana of (M)Galilee, and revealed His (N)glory; and His disciples believed in Him.

12 After this He went down to (O)Capernaum, He and His (P)mother, and His (Q)brothers and His (R)disciples; and they stayed there a few days.

First Passover—Cleansing the Temple

13 (S)The Passover of the Jews was near, and Jesus (T)went up to Jerusalem. 14 (U)And within the temple grounds He found those who were selling oxen, sheep, and doves, and the money changers seated at their tables. 15 And He made a whip of [e]cords, and drove them all out of the temple area, with the sheep and the oxen; and He poured out the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables; 16 and to those who were selling (V)the doves He said, “Take these things away from here; stop making (W)My Father’s house a [f]place of business!” 17 His (X)disciples remembered that it was written: “(Y)Zeal for Your house will consume me.” 18 (Z)The Jews then said to Him, “(AA)What sign do You show us [g]as your authority for doing these things?” 19 Jesus answered them, (AB)Destroy this [h]temple, and in three days I will raise it up.” 20 (AC)The Jews then said, “It took (AD)forty-six years to build this [i]temple, and yet You will raise it up in three days?” 21 But He was speaking about (AE)the [j]temple of His body. 22 So when He was raised from the dead, His (AF)disciples (AG)remembered that He said this; and they believed (AH)the Scripture and the word which Jesus had spoken.

23 Now when He was in Jerusalem at (AI)the Passover, during the feast, many believed in His name as they (AJ)observed His signs which He was doing. 24 But Jesus, on His part, was not entrusting Himself to them, because (AK)He knew all people, 25 and because He did not need anyone to testify about mankind, (AL)for He Himself knew what was in mankind.

The New Birth

Now there was a man of the Pharisees, named (AM)Nicodemus, a (AN)ruler of the Jews; this man came to [k]Jesus at night and said to Him, “(AO)Rabbi, we know that You have come from God as a teacher; for no one can do these [l](AP)signs that You do unless (AQ)God is with him.” Jesus responded and said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless someone (AR)is born [m]again he cannot see (AS)the kingdom of God.”

Nicodemus *said to Him, “How can a person be born when he is old? He cannot enter his mother’s womb a second time and be born, can he?” Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless someone is born of (AT)water and the Spirit, he cannot enter (AU)the kingdom of God. (AV)That which has been born of the flesh is flesh, and that which has been born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not be amazed that I said to you, ‘You must be born [n]again.’ (AW)The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but you do not know where it is coming from and where it is going; so is everyone who has been born of the Spirit.”

Nicodemus responded and said to Him, “How can these things be?” 10 Jesus answered and said to him, “You are (AX)the teacher of Israel, and yet you do not understand these things? 11 Truly, truly, I say to you, (AY)we speak of what we know and (AZ)testify of what we have seen, and (BA)you people do not accept our testimony. 12 If I told you earthly things and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things? 13 (BB)No one has ascended into heaven, except (BC)He who descended from heaven: (BD)the Son of Man. 14 And just as (BE)Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must (BF)the Son of Man (BG)be lifted up, 15 so that everyone who [o]believes will (BH)have eternal life in Him.

16 “For God so (BI)loved the world, that He (BJ)gave His (BK)only Son, so that everyone who (BL)believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life. 17 For God (BM)did not send the Son into the world (BN)to judge the world, but so that the world might be saved through Him. 18 (BO)The one who believes in Him is not judged; the one who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of (BP)the only Son of God. 19 And this is the judgment, that (BQ)the Light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the Light; for (BR)their deeds were evil. 20 (BS)For everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come to the Light, so that his deeds will not be exposed. 21 But the one who (BT)practices the truth comes to the Light, so that his deeds will be revealed [p]as having been performed in God.”

John the Baptist’s Last Testimony

22 After these things Jesus and His (BU)disciples came into the land of Judea; and there He was spending time with them and (BV)baptizing. 23 Now John also was baptizing in Aenon, near Salim, because there was an abundance of water there; and people were coming and being baptized— 24 for (BW)John had not yet been thrown into prison.

25 Then a matter of dispute developed on the part of John’s disciples with a Jew about [q](BX)purification. 26 And they came to John and said to him, “(BY)Rabbi, He who was with you (BZ)beyond the Jordan, to whom you (CA)have testified—behold, He is baptizing and all the people are coming to Him.” 27 John replied, “(CB)A person can receive not even one thing unless it (CC)has been given to him from heaven. 28 You yourselves [r]are my witnesses that I said, ‘(CD)I am not the [s]Christ,’ but, ‘I have been sent ahead of Him.’ 29 He who has the bride is (CE)the groom; but the friend of the groom, who stands and listens to him, rejoices greatly because of the groom’s voice. So this (CF)joy of mine has been made full. 30 He must [t]increase, but I must [u]decrease.

31 (CG)He who comes from above is above all; (CH)the one who is only from the earth is of the earth and speaks of the earth. (CI)He who comes from heaven is above all. 32 What He has seen and heard, of this He (CJ)testifies; and (CK)no one accepts His testimony. 33 The one who has accepted His testimony (CL)has certified that God is true. 34 For He whom God (CM)sent speaks the words of God; (CN)for He does not give the Spirit [v]sparingly. 35 (CO)The Father loves the Son and (CP)has entrusted all things to His hand. 36 The one who (CQ)believes in the Son has eternal life; but the one who (CR)does not [w]obey the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.”
