Psalm 91

²⁸ They stripped him and put a scarlet robe on him,^{(A) 29} and then twisted together a crown of thorns and set it on his head. They put a staff in his right hand. Then they knelt in front of him and mocked him. “Hail, king of the Jews!” they said.^(B)

⁷ In him we have redemption^(A) through his blood,^(B) the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches^(C) of God’s grace ⁸ that he lavished on us. With all wisdom and understanding,

¹⁸ God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie,^(A) we who have fled to take hold of the hope^(B) set before us may be greatly encouraged.
