Psalm 24

Of David. A psalm.

¹⁴ To the Lord your God belong the heavens,^(A) even the highest heavens,^(B) the earth and everything in it.^(C)

¹² That is why the Israelites cannot stand against their enemies;^(A) they turn their backs^(B) and run^(C) because they have been made liable to destruction.^(D) I will not be with you anymore^(E) unless you destroy whatever among you is devoted to destruction.

¹⁰ “Do you refuse to speak to me?” Pilate said. “Don’t you realize I have power either to free you or to crucify you?”

¹¹ Jesus answered, “You would have no power over me if it were not given to you from above.^(A) Therefore the one who handed me over to you^(B) is guilty of a greater sin.”

²⁴ “The God who made the world and everything in it^(A) is the Lord of heaven and earth^(B) and does not live in temples built by human hands.^{(C) 25} And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything. Rather, he himself gives everyone life and breath and everything else.^{(D) 26} From one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands.^(E)

¹³ In the sight of God, who gives life to everything, and of Christ Jesus, who while testifying before Pontius Pilate^(A) made the good confession,^(B) I charge you^{(C) 14} to keep this command without spot or blame^(D) until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ,^{(E) 15} which God will bring about in his own time^(F)—God, the blessed^(G) and only Ruler,^(H) the King of kings and Lord of lords,^{(I) 16} who alone is immortal^(J) and who lives in unapproachable light,^(K) whom no one has seen or can see.^(L) To him be honor and might forever. Amen.^(M)

³ The Son is the radiance of God’s glory^(A) and the exact representation of his being,^(B) sustaining all things^(C) by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins,^(D) he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.^(E)
