(A)Those who sow in tears
Shall reap in joy.

Bearing [b]seed for sowing,
Shall doubtless come again [c]with (B)rejoicing,
Bringing his sheaves with him.

  2. Psalm 126:6 Lit. a bag of seed for sowing
  3. Psalm 126:6 with shouts of joy

10 “For (A)as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven,
And do not return there,
But water the earth,
And make it bring forth and bud,
That it may give seed to the sower
And bread to the eater,
11 (B)So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth;
It shall not return to Me [a]void,
But it shall accomplish what I please,
And it shall (C)prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

12 “For(D) you shall go out with joy,
And be led out with peace;
The mountains and the hills
Shall (E)break forth into singing before you,
And (F)all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.
13 (G)Instead of (H)the thorn shall come up the cypress tree,
And instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree;
And it shall be to the Lord (I)for a name,
For an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.”

  1. Isaiah 55:11 empty, without fruit

27 “Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, that (A)I will sow the house of Israel and the house of Judah with the seed of man and the seed of beast. 28 And it shall come to pass, that as I have (B)watched over them (C)to pluck up, to break down, to throw down, to destroy, and to afflict, so I will watch over them (D)to build and to plant, says the Lord. 29 (E)In those days they shall say no more:

‘The fathers have eaten sour grapes,
And the children’s teeth are set on edge.’

30 (F)But every one shall die for his own iniquity; every man who eats the sour grapes, his teeth shall be set on edge.

A New Covenant

31 “Behold, the (G)days are coming, says the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah— 32 not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that (H)I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt, My covenant which they broke, [a]though I was a husband to them, says the Lord. 33 (I)But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: (J)I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their [b]hearts; (K)and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. 34 No more shall every man teach his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for (L)they all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them, says the Lord. For (M)I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more.”
