¹² Ears that hear and eyes that see—
    the Lord has made them both.^(A)

¹⁸ In that day^(A) the deaf^(B) will hear the words of the scroll,
    and out of gloom and darkness^(C)
    the eyes of the blind will see.^(D)

³ Then the eyes of those who see will no longer be closed,^(A)
    and the ears^(B) of those who hear will listen.

⁵ Then will the eyes of the blind be opened^(A)
    and the ears of the deaf^(B) unstopped.

⁷ to open eyes that are blind,^(A)
    to free^(B) captives from prison^(C)
    and to release from the dungeon those who sit in darkness.^(D)

⁸ Lead out those who have eyes but are blind,^(A)
    who have ears but are deaf.^(B)
