Proverbs 15:6-8
New American Bible (Revised Edition)
6 In the house of the just there are ample resources,
but the harvest of the wicked is in peril.
7 The lips of the wise spread knowledge,
but the heart of fools is not steadfast.[a]
8 The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord,(A)
but the prayer of the upright is his delight.
Footnotes
- 15:7 “Lips” and “heart” are a fixed pair, in Proverbs signifying, respectively, expression and source. The wise disseminate what they have in their heart, but the wicked are unsound even in the source of their words, their hearts.
