³⁴ Righteousness exalts a nation,
But sin is a disgrace to any people.

⁶ Great wealth is in the house of the ^(A)righteous,
But trouble is in the income of the wicked.

⁹ The way of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord,
But He loves the one who ^(A)pursues righteousness.

⁷ When a person’s ways are pleasing to the Lord,
He ^(A)causes even his enemies to make peace with him.

¹³ One who ^(A)returns evil for good,
^(B)Evil will not depart from his house.

³ When a wicked person comes, contempt also comes,
And with dishonor comes taunting.

³ The ^(A)foolishness of a person ruins his way,
And his heart ^(B)rages against the Lord.

¹⁹ A person of great anger will suffer the penalty,
For if you rescue him, you will only have to do it again.

^29 [a]Judgments are prepared for ^(A)scoffers,
And ^(B)beatings for the backs of fools.

⁷ A righteous person who ^(A)walks in his integrity—
^(B)How blessed are his sons after him.
