And He adds no sorrow to it.

²²The blessing of the Lord^(A) brings wealth,^(B)
without painful toil for it.^(C)

⁸The ransom of a person’s life is his wealth,
But the poor hears no rebuke.

⁸A person’s riches may ransom their life,
but the poor cannot respond to threatening rebukes.^(A)

²⁰There is precious ^(A)treasure and oil in the home of the wise,
But a foolish person ^(B)swallows it up.

²⁰The wise store up choice food and olive oil,
but fools gulp theirs down.
