11 And that [a]every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is the Lord, unto the glory of God the Father.
12 [b]Wherefore my beloved, as ye have always obeyed me, not as in my presence only, but now much more in mine absence, so [c]make an end of your own salvation with fear and trembling.
13 [d]For it is God which worketh in you both [e]the will and the deed, even of his good pleasure.

12 Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling,(B) 13 for it is God who works in you(C) to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.(D)
