Philippians 1:29-2:11
English Standard Version Anglicised
29 For (A)it has been granted to you that for the sake of Christ you should not only believe in him but also (B)suffer for his sake, 30 engaged in the same (C)conflict that (D)you saw I had and now hear that I still have.
Christ's Example of Humility
2 So if there is any encouragement in Christ, any comfort from (E)love, any (F)participation in the Spirit, any (G)affection and sympathy, 2 (H)complete my joy by being (I)of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind. 3 Do nothing from (J)rivalry or (K)conceit, but in (L)humility count others more significant than yourselves. 4 Let each of you (M)look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. 5 (N)Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus,[a] 6 (O)who, though he was in (P)the form of God, did not count equality with God (Q)a thing to be grasped, 7 but (R)made himself nothing, taking the form of a (S)servant,[b] (T)being born in the likeness of men. 8 And being found in human form, he humbled himself by (U)becoming obedient to the point of death, (V)even death on a cross. 9 (W)Therefore (X)God has (Y)highly exalted him and bestowed on him (Z)the name that is above every name, 10 so that at the name of Jesus (AA)every knee should bow, (AB)in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and (AC)every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is (AD)Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

New International Version
29 For it has been granted to you(A) on behalf of Christ not only to believe in him, but also to suffer(B) for him, 30 since you are going through the same struggle(C) you saw(D) I had, and now hear(E) that I still have.
Imitating Christ’s Humility
2 Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit,(F) if any tenderness and compassion,(G) 2 then make my joy complete(H) by being like-minded,(I) having the same love, being one(J) in spirit and of one mind. 3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit.(K) Rather, in humility value others above yourselves,(L) 4 not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.(M)
5 In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus:(N)
6 Who, being in very nature[a] God,(O)
did not consider equality with God(P) something to be used to his own advantage;
7 rather, he made himself nothing(Q)
by taking the very nature[b] of a servant,(R)
being made in human likeness.(S)
8 And being found in appearance as a man,
he humbled himself
by becoming obedient to death(T)—
even death on a cross!(U)
