Paul’s Chains Advance the Gospel

¹² Now I want you to know, brothers and sisters,^[a] that what has happened to me has actually served to advance the gospel. ¹³ As a result, it has become clear throughout the whole palace guard^[b] and to everyone else that I am in chains^(A) for Christ.

Psalm 106^(A)

²⁹ Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care.^[a]

¹⁷ Everyone will hate you because of me.^{(A) 18} But not a hair of your head will perish.^(B)

³⁵ Then Jesus asked them, “When I sent you without purse, bag or sandals,^(A) did you lack anything?”

“Nothing,” they answered.

¹¹ Jesus then took the loaves, gave thanks,^(A) and distributed to those who were seated as much as they wanted. He did the same with the fish.

²⁸ And we know that in all things God works for the good^(A) of those who love him, who^[a] have been called^(B) according to his purpose.^(C)
