And you shall attend to (A)the duties of the sanctuary and the duties of the altar, (B)that there may be no more wrath on the children of Israel. Behold, I Myself have (C)taken your brethren the Levites from among the children of Israel; (D)they are a gift to you, given by the Lord, to do the work of the tabernacle of meeting. Therefore (E)you and your sons with you shall attend to your priesthood for everything at the altar and (F)behind the veil; and you shall serve. I give your priesthood to you as a (G)gift for service, but the outsider who comes near shall be put to death.”

For a tabernacle was prepared: the first part, in which was the lampstand, the table, and the showbread, which is called the [a]sanctuary; (A)and behind the second veil, the part of the tabernacle which is called the Holiest of All, which had the (B)golden censer and (C)the ark of the covenant overlaid on all sides with gold, in which were (D)the golden pot that had the manna, (E)Aaron’s rod that budded, and (F)the tablets of the covenant; and (G)above it were the cherubim of glory overshadowing the mercy seat. Of these things we cannot now speak in detail.

Now when these things had been thus prepared, (H)the priests always went into the first part of the tabernacle, performing the services.
