7 They did battle against Midian, as the Lord had commanded Moses, and killed every male. 8 They killed the kings of Midian: Evi, Rekem, Zur, Hur, and Reba, the five kings of Midian, in addition to others who were slain by them; and they also killed Balaam son of Beor with the sword. 9 The Israelites took the women of Midian and their little ones captive; and they took all their cattle, their flocks, and all their goods as booty.

7 They fought against Midian, as the Lord commanded Moses,(A) and killed every man.(B) 8 Among their victims were Evi, Rekem, Zur, Hur and Reba(C)—the five kings of Midian.(D) They also killed Balaam son of Beor(E) with the sword.(F) 9 The Israelites captured the Midianite women(G) and children and took all the Midianite herds, flocks and goods as plunder.(H)
