⁶⁶ On the tenth day Ahiezer son of Ammishaddai,^(A) the leader of the people of Dan, brought his offering.

⁷² On the eleventh day Pagiel son of Okran,^(B) the leader of the people of Asher, brought his offering.

⁷⁸ On the twelfth day Ahira son of Enan,^(C) the leader of the people of Naphtali, brought his offering.

⁸⁴ These were the offerings of the Israelite leaders for the dedication of the altar when it was anointed:^(D) twelve silver plates, twelve silver sprinkling bowls^(E) and twelve gold dishes.^{(F) 85} Each silver plate weighed a hundred and thirty shekels, and each sprinkling bowl seventy shekels. Altogether, the silver dishes weighed two thousand four hundred shekels,^[a] according to the sanctuary shekel.^{(G) 86} The twelve gold dishes filled with incense weighed ten shekels each, according to the sanctuary shekel.^(H) Altogether, the gold dishes weighed a hundred and twenty shekels.^{[b] 87} The total number of animals for the burnt offering^(I) came to twelve young bulls, twelve rams and twelve male lambs a year old, together with their grain offering.^(J) Twelve male goats were used for the sin offering.^{(K) 88} The total number of animals for the sacrifice of the fellowship offering^(L) came to twenty-four oxen, sixty rams, sixty male goats and sixty male lambs^(M) a year old. These were the offerings for the dedication of the altar after it was anointed.^(N)

⁸⁹ When Moses entered the tent of meeting^(O) to speak with the Lord,^(P) he heard the voice speaking to him from between the two cherubim above the atonement cover^(Q) on the ark of the covenant law.^(R) In this way the Lord spoke to him.

Ephraim

²⁸ Their lands and settlements included Bethel and its surrounding villages, Naaran to the east, Gezer^(C) and its villages to the west, and Shechem and its villages all the way to Ayyah and its villages. ²⁹ Along the borders of Manasseh were Beth Shan,^(D) Taanach, Megiddo and Dor,^(E) together with their villages. The descendants of Joseph son of Israel lived in these towns.

Asher

⁴⁰ All these were descendants of Asher—heads of families, choice men, brave warriors and outstanding leaders. The number of men ready for battle, as listed in their genealogy, was 26,000.

A Prophecy Against Edom

35 The word of the Lord came to me: ² “Son of man, set your face against Mount Seir;^(A) prophesy against it ³ and say: ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: I am against you, Mount Seir, and I will stretch out my hand^(B) against you and make you a desolate waste.^{(C) 4} I will turn your towns into ruins^(D) and you will be desolate. Then you will know that I am the Lord.^(E)

⁵ “‘Because you harbored an ancient hostility and delivered the Israelites over to the sword^(F) at the time of their calamity,^(G) the time their punishment reached its climax,^(H)

The Parable of the Persistent Widow

18 Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up.^{(A) 2} He said: “In a certain town there was a judge who neither feared God nor cared what people thought. ³ And there was a widow in that town who kept coming to him with the plea, ‘Grant me justice^(B) against my adversary.’

⁴ “For some time he refused. But finally he said to himself, ‘Even though I don’t fear God or care what people think, ⁵ yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will see that she gets justice, so that she won’t eventually come and attack me!’”^(C)

⁶ And the Lord^(D) said, “Listen to what the unjust judge says. ⁷ And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out^(E) to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? ⁸ I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man^(F) comes,^(G) will he find faith on the earth?”

²⁵ Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully^(A) to your neighbor, for we are all members of one body.^{(B) 26} “In your anger do not sin”^[a]:^(C) Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, ²⁷ and do not give the devil a foothold.^{(D) 28} Anyone who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work,^(E) doing something useful with their own hands,^(F) that they may have something to share with those in need.^(G)

²⁹ Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths,^(H) but only what is helpful for building others up^(I) according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. ³⁰ And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God,^(J) with whom you were sealed^(K) for the day of redemption.^{(L) 31} Get rid of^(M) all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice.^{(N) 32} Be kind and compassionate to one another,^(O) forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.^(P) 5 ¹ Follow God’s example,^(Q) therefore, as dearly loved children^{(R) 2} and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us^(S) and gave himself up for us^(T) as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.^(U)
