¹⁶ And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway from the water: and lo, the heavens were opened ^[a]unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending as a dove, and coming upon him; ¹⁷ and lo, a voice out of the heavens, saying, ^[b]This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

⁹ And it came to pass in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized of John ^[a]in the Jordan. ¹⁰ And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens rent asunder, and the Spirit as a dove descending upon him: ¹¹ and a voice came out of the heavens, Thou art my beloved Son, in thee I am well pleased.

²¹ Now it came to pass, when all the people were baptized, that, Jesus also having been baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened, ²² and the Holy Spirit descended in a bodily form, as a dove, upon him, and a voice came out of heaven, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased.

¹⁹ Go ye therefore, and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit:

³⁵ And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Spirit shall come upon thee, and the power of the Most High shall overshadow thee: wherefore also ^[a]the holy thing which is begotten ^[b]shall be called the Son of God.

³⁴ For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for he giveth not the Spirit by measure. ³⁵ The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand.

²⁶ But the ^[a]Comforter, even the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said unto you.

¹³ Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he shall guide you into all the truth: for he shall not speak from himself; but what things soever he shall hear, these shall he speak: and he shall declare unto you the things that are to come. ¹⁴ He shall glorify me: for he shall take of mine, and shall declare it unto you. ¹⁵ All things whatsoever the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he taketh of mine, and shall declare it unto you.

³² This Jesus did God raise up, ^[a]whereof we all are witnesses. ³³ Being therefore ^[b]by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he hath poured forth this, which ye see and hear.

³⁸ And Peter said unto them, Repent ye, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ unto the remission of your sins; and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. ³⁹ For to you is the promise, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call unto him.
