¹⁶ And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway from the water: and lo, the heavens were opened ^[a]unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending as a dove, and coming upon him; ¹⁷ and lo, a voice out of the heavens, saying, ^[b]This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

³⁵ And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Spirit shall come upon thee, and the power of the Most High shall overshadow thee: wherefore also ^[a]the holy thing which is begotten ^[b]shall be called the Son of God.

²² and the Holy Spirit descended in a bodily form, as a dove, upon him, and a voice came out of heaven, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased.

³⁴ For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for he giveth not the Spirit by measure.

²⁶ But the ^[a]Comforter, even the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said unto you.

²⁶ But when the ^[a]Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which ^[b]proceedeth from the Father, he shall bear witness of me:

³³ Being therefore ^[a]by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he hath poured forth this, which ye see and hear.

³⁸ And Peter said unto them, Repent ye, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ unto the remission of your sins; and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

¹⁶ that I should be a minister of Christ Jesus unto the ^[a]Gentiles, ^[b]ministering the ^[c]gospel of God, that the offering up of the Gentiles might be made acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Spirit.

³⁰ Now I beseech you, brethren, by our Lord Jesus Christ, and by the love of the Spirit, that ye strive together with me in your prayers to God for me;
