Mark 7:7-9

New International Version

⁷They worship me in vain;
their teachings are merely human rules.’^[a]^(A)

⁸You have let go of the commands of God and are holding on to human traditions.”^(B)

⁹And he continued, “You have a fine way of setting aside the commands of God in order to observe^[b] your own traditions!^(C)

Mark 7:7-9

⁷Their worship is a farce,
for they teach man-made ideas as commands from God.’^[a]

⁸For you ignore God’s law and substitute your own tradition.”

⁹Then he said, “You skillfully sidestep God’s law in order to hold on to your own tradition.

⁷And in vain they worship Me,
Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’

⁸For laying aside the commandment of God, you hold the tradition of men—^[a]the washing of pitchers and cups, and many other such things you do.”

⁹He said to them, “All too well ^(A)you ^[b]reject the commandment of God, that you may keep your tradition.
