³⁹ But I say to you, do not show opposition against an evil person; but ^(A)whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other toward him also.

⁵⁰ And one of them struck the slave of the high priest and cut off his right ear. ⁵¹ But Jesus responded and said, “^[a]Stop! No more of this.” And He touched his ear and healed him.

⁵¹ And behold, ^(A)one of those who were with Jesus ^[a]reached and drew his ^(B)sword, and struck the ^(C)slave of the high priest and ^[b]cut off his ear. ⁵² Then Jesus *said to him, “Put your sword back into its place; for ^(D)all those who take up the sword will perish by the sword. ⁵³ Or do you think that I cannot appeal to My Father, and He will at once put at My disposal more than twelve ^[c](E)legions of ^(F)angels?
