Jesus Heals a Great Multitude^(A)

²³ And Jesus went about all Galilee, ^(B)teaching in their synagogues, preaching ^(C)the gospel of the kingdom, ^(D)and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people. ²⁴ Then ^[a]His fame went throughout all Syria; and they ^(E)brought to Him all sick people who were afflicted with various diseases and torments, and those who were demon-possessed, epileptics, and paralytics; and He healed them. ^25 (F)Great multitudes followed Him—from Galilee, and from ^[b]Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judea, and beyond the Jordan.

⁸ And a very great multitude spread their clothes on the road; ^(A)others cut down branches from the trees and spread them on the road. ⁹ Then the multitudes who went before and those who followed cried out, saying:

^10 (C)And when He had come into Jerusalem, all the city was moved, saying, “Who is this?”

¹¹ So the multitudes said, “This is Jesus, ^(D)the prophet from Nazareth of Galilee.”

The Plot to Kill Jesus^(A)

14 After ^(B)two days it was the Passover and ^(C)the Feast of Unleavened Bread. And the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might take Him by ^[a]trickery and put Him to death. ² But they said, “Not during the feast, lest there be an uproar of the people.”

Jesus Advances in Wisdom and Favor

⁵¹ Then He went down with them and came to Nazareth, and was ^[a]subject to them, but His mother ^(A)kept all these things in her heart. ⁵² And Jesus ^(B)increased in wisdom and stature, ^(C)and in favor with God and men.

Jesus Begins His Galilean Ministry^(A)

^14 (B)Then Jesus returned ^(C)in the power of the Spirit to ^(D)Galilee, and ^(E)news of Him went out through all the surrounding region. ¹⁵ And He ^(F)taught in their synagogues, ^(G)being glorified by all.

The King on a Cross^(A)

^26 (B)Now as they led Him away, they laid hold of a certain man, Simon a Cyrenian, who was coming from the country, and on him they laid the cross that he might bear it after Jesus.

²⁷ And a great multitude of the people followed Him, and women who also mourned and lamented Him.

¹⁷ Therefore the people, who were with Him when He called Lazarus out of his tomb and raised him from the dead, bore witness. ^18 (A)For this reason the people also met Him, because they heard that He had done this sign. ¹⁹ The Pharisees therefore said among themselves, ^(B)“You see that you are accomplishing nothing. Look, the world has gone after Him!”
