²⁷ Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the ^[a]Praetorium, and gathered unto him the whole ^[b]band. ²⁸ And they ^[c]stripped him, and put on him a scarlet robe. ²⁹ And they platted a crown of thorns and put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand; and they kneeled down before him, and mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews! ³⁰ And they spat upon him, and took the reed and smote him on the head. ³¹ And when they had mocked him, they took off from him the robe, and put on him his garments, and led him away to crucify him.

¹⁶ And the soldiers led him away within the court, which is the ^[a]Praetorium; and they call together the whole ^[b]band. ¹⁷ And they clothe him with purple, and platting a crown of thorns, they put it on him; ¹⁸ and they began to salute him, Hail, King of the Jews! ¹⁹ And they smote his head with a reed, and spat upon him, and bowing their knees ^[c]worshipped him. ²⁰ And when they had mocked him, they took off from him the purple, and put on him his garments. And they lead him out to crucify him.

² And the soldiers platted a crown of thorns, and put it on his head, and arrayed him in a purple garment; ³ and they came unto him, and said, Hail, King of the Jews! and they struck him ^[a]with their hands.
