Christ Born of Mary^(A)

¹⁸ Now the ^(B)birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: After His mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child ^(C)of the Holy Spirit. ¹⁹ Then Joseph her husband, being ^[a]a just man, and not wanting ^(D)to make her a public example, was minded to put her away secretly. ²⁰ But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, ^(E)for that which is ^[b]conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. ^21 (F)And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name ^[c]Jesus, ^(G)for He will save His people from their sins.”

²² So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying: ^23 (H)“Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.”

²⁴ Then Joseph, being aroused from sleep, did as the angel of the Lord commanded him and took to him his wife, ²⁵ and ^[d]did not know her till she had brought forth ^(I)her^[e] firstborn Son. And he called His name Jesus.

⁶ And He said to me, ^(A)“It^[a] is done! ^(B)I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. ^(C)I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts. ⁷ He who overcomes ^[b]shall inherit all things, and ^(D)I will be his God and he shall be My son. ^8 (E)But the cowardly, ^[c]unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in ^(F)the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”

Jesus Testifies to the Churches

¹² “And behold, I am coming quickly, and ^(A)My reward is with Me, ^(B)to give to every one according to his work. ^13 (C)I am the Alpha and the Omega, the ^[a]Beginning and the End, the First and the Last.”

^14 (D)Blessed are those who ^[b]do His commandments, that they may have the right ^(E)to the tree of life, ^(F)and may enter through the gates into the city. ^15 [c]But ^(G)outside are ^(H)dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie.

^16 (I)“I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things in the churches. ^(J)I am the Root and the Offspring of David, ^(K)the Bright and Morning Star.”

¹⁷ And the Spirit and ^(L)the bride say, “Come!” And let him who hears say, “Come!” ^(M)And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely.
