³⁷ Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest^(A) is plentiful but the workers are few.^{(B) 38} Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”

2 And so it was with me, brothers and sisters. When I came to you, I did not come with eloquence or human wisdom^(A) as I proclaimed to you the testimony about God.^{[a] 2} For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.^{(B) 3} I came to you^(C) in weakness^(D) with great fear and trembling.^(E)

¹⁶ For I am not ashamed of the gospel,^(A) because it is the power of God^(B) that brings salvation to everyone who believes:^(C) first to the Jew,^(D) then to the Gentile.^(E)

³ Since they did not know the righteousness of God and sought to establish their own, they did not submit to God’s righteousness.^{(A) 4} Christ is the culmination of the law^(B) so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes.^(C)

⁵ Moses writes this about the righteousness that is by the law: “The person who does these things will live by them.”^[a](D)
