¹⁹ Every tree that doesn’t produce good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.^(A)

⁹ The ax is already at the root of the trees. Therefore, every tree that doesn’t produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.”^(A)

² Every branch in me that does not produce fruit he removes,^(A) and he prunes every branch that produces fruit so that it will produce more fruit.

²² Therefore, consider God’s kindness and severity: severity toward those who have fallen but God’s kindness^(A) toward you—if you remain in his kindness.^(B) Otherwise you too will be cut off.^(C)
