³⁹ And He went a little beyond them, and fell on His face and prayed, saying, “My Father, if it is possible, let ^(A)this cup pass from Me; ^(B)yet not as I will, but as You will.” ⁴⁰ And He *came to the disciples and *found them sleeping, and He *said to Peter, “So, you men could not ^(C)keep watch with Me for one hour? ^41 (D)Keep watching and praying, so that you do not come into temptation; ^(E)the spirit is ^[a]willing, but the flesh is weak.”

⁴² He went away again a second time and prayed, saying, “My Father, if this cup ^(F)cannot pass away unless I drink from it, ^(G)Your will be done.”

^45 (A)Now from the ^[a]sixth hour darkness ^[b]fell upon all the land until the ^[c]ninth hour. ⁴⁶ And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, “^(B)Eli, Eli, lema sabaktanei?” that is, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?”
