26 When Peter said, “From strangers,” Jesus said to him, “Then the sons are [a]exempt. 27 However, so that we do not (A)offend them, go to the sea and throw in a hook, and take the first fish that comes up; and when you open its mouth, you will find a [b]stater. Take that and give it to them for you and Me.”

New International Version
26 “From others,” Peter answered.
“Then the children are exempt,” Jesus said to him. 27 “But so that we may not cause offense,(A) go to the lake and throw out your line. Take the first fish you catch; open its mouth and you will find a four-drachma coin. Take it and give it to them for my tax and yours.”
