¹⁵ “But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?”

¹⁶ Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”^(A)

¹⁷ Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood,^(B) but by my Father in heaven.^{(C) 18} And I tell you that you are Peter,^[a](D) and on this rock I will build my church,^(E) and the gates of Hades^[b] will not overcome it. ¹⁹ I will give you the keys^(F) of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be^[c] bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be^[d] loosed in heaven.”^(G)

⁹ If you declare^(A) with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,”^(B) and believe^(C) in your heart that God raised him from the dead,^(D) you will be saved.^(E)

³⁰ He then brought them out and asked, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”^(A)

³¹ They replied, “Believe^(B) in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved^(C)—you and your household.”^{(D) 32} Then they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all the others in his house. ³³ At that hour of the night^(E) the jailer took them and washed their wounds; then immediately he and all his household were baptized.^(F)

³⁰ He then brought them out and asked, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”^(A)

³¹ They replied, “Believe^(B) in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved^(C)—you and your household.”^{(D) 32} Then they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all the others in his house. ³³ At that hour of the night^(E) the jailer took them and washed their wounds; then immediately he and all his household were baptized.^(F)

²³ For I received from the Lord^(A) what I also passed on to you:^(B) The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, ²⁴ and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, “This is my body,^(C) which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.” ²⁵ In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant^(D) in my blood;^(E) do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.” ²⁶ For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.^(F)

²³ Let us hold unswervingly to the hope^(A) we profess,^(B) for he who promised is faithful.^{(C) 24} And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds,^{(D) 25} not giving up meeting together,^(E) as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another^(F)—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.^(G)
