³⁸ And ^(A)the one who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me.

Discipleship Is Costly

²⁴ Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone wants to come after Me, he must deny himself, ^(A)take up his cross, and follow Me.

³⁴ And He summoned the crowd together with His disciples, and said to them, “If anyone wants to come after Me, he must deny himself, ^(A)take up his cross, and follow Me.

²¹ Looking at him, Jesus showed love to him and said to him, “One thing you lack: go and sell all you possess and give to the poor, and you will have ^(A)treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.”

²³ And He was saying to them all, “^(A)If anyone wants to come after Me, he must deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow Me.

²⁷ Whoever does not ^(A)carry his own cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple.
