¹⁹ Therefore go and make disciples of all nations,^(A) baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,^{(B) 20} and teaching^(C) them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you^(D) always, to the very end of the age.”^(E)

¹⁵ He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.^{(A) 16} Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.^(B)

⁴⁶ He told them, “This is what is written: The Messiah will suffer^(A) and rise from the dead on the third day,^{(B) 47} and repentance for the forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name^(C) to all nations,^(D) beginning at Jerusalem.^{(E) 48} You are witnesses^(F) of these things. ⁴⁹ I am going to send you what my Father has promised;^(G) but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high.”

⁸ But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you;^(A) and you will be my witnesses^(B) in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria,^(C) and to the ends of the earth.”^(D)

³⁸ Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized,^(A) every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins.^(B) And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.^{(C) 39} The promise is for you and your children^(D) and for all who are far off^(E)—for all whom the Lord our God will call.”

⁴⁵ The circumcised believers who had come with Peter^(A) were astonished that the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out^(B) even on Gentiles.^{(C) 46} For they heard them speaking in tongues^[a](D) and praising God.

Then Peter said, ⁴⁷ “Surely no one can stand in the way of their being baptized with water.^(E) They have received the Holy Spirit just as we have.”^{(F) 48} So he ordered that they be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ.^(G) Then they asked Peter to stay with them for a few days.

⁴⁶ Then Paul and Barnabas answered them boldly: “We had to speak the word of God to you first.^(A) Since you reject it and do not consider yourselves worthy of eternal life, we now turn to the Gentiles.^{(B) 47} For this is what the Lord has commanded us:
