²³ When they ^(A)persecute you in one town, ^(B)flee to the next, for truly, I say to you, you will not have gone through all the towns of Israel ^(C)before the Son of Man comes.

^27 (A)For the Son of Man is going to come with ^(B)his angels in the glory of his Father, and ^(C)then he will repay each person according to what he has done. ²⁸ Truly, I say to you, there are some standing here who will not ^(D)taste death ^(E)until they see the Son of Man ^(F)coming in his kingdom.”

²⁰ Pray that your flight may not be in winter or on a Sabbath. ²¹ For then there will be ^(A)great tribulation, ^(B)such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, and never will be. ²² And if those days had not been cut short, no human being would be saved. But for ^(C)the sake of the elect those days will be cut short. ^23 (D)Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘There he is!’ do not believe it. ²⁴ For ^(E)false christs and ^(F)false prophets will arise and ^(G)perform great signs and wonders, ^(H)so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect. ²⁵ See, ^(I)I have told you beforehand. ²⁶ So, if they say to you, ‘Look, ^(J)he is in the wilderness,’ do not go out. If they say, ‘Look, he is in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it. ^27 (K)For as the lightning comes from the east and shines as far as the west, so will be ^(L)the coming of the Son of Man. ^28 (M)Wherever the corpse is, there the vultures will gather.

The Coming of the Son of Man

²⁹ “Immediately after ^(N)the tribulation of those days ^(O)the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and ^(P)the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. ³⁰ Then ^(Q)will appear in heaven ^(R)the sign of the Son of Man, and then ^(S)all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and ^(T)they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven ^(U)with power and great glory. ³¹ And ^(V)he will send out his angels with a loud ^(W)trumpet call, and they will ^(X)gather ^(Y)his elect from ^(Z)the four winds, ^(AA)from one end of heaven to the other.

The Lesson of the Fig Tree

³² “From the fig tree learn its lesson: as soon as its branch becomes tender and puts out its leaves, you know that summer is near. ³³ So also, when you see all these things, you know that he is near, ^(AB)at the very gates. ^34 (AC)Truly, I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place.

⁶⁴ Jesus said to him, ^(A)“You have said so. But I tell you, from now on ^(B)you will see the Son of Man ^(C)seated at the right hand of Power and ^(D)coming on the clouds of heaven.”

9 And he said to them, “Truly, I say to you, there are some standing here who will not ^(A)taste death ^(B)until they see the kingdom of God after it has come ^(C)with power.”

^30 (A)Truly, I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place.

⁶² And Jesus said, “I am, and ^(A)you will see the Son of Man ^(B)seated at the right hand of Power, and ^(C)coming with the clouds of heaven.”

²⁷ But I tell you truly, there are some standing here who will not ^(A)taste death ^(B)until they see the kingdom of God.”

The Coming of the Son of Man

²⁵ “And ^(A)there will be signs in sun and moon ^(B)and stars, and on the earth ^(C)distress of nations in perplexity because of the roaring of the sea and the waves, ²⁶ people fainting with fear and with foreboding of what is coming on the world. For ^(D)the powers of the heavens will be shaken. ²⁷ And then they will see ^(E)the Son of Man coming in a cloud ^(F)with power and great glory. ²⁸ Now when these things begin to take place, straighten up and ^(G)raise your heads, because ^(H)your redemption is drawing near.”

The Lesson of the Fig Tree

²⁹ And he told them a parable: “Look at the fig tree, and all the trees. ³⁰ As soon as they come out in leaf, you see ^(I)for yourselves and know that the summer is already near. ³¹ So also, when you see these things taking place, you know that the kingdom of God is near. ^32 (J)Truly, I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all has taken place. ^33 (K)Heaven and earth will pass away, but ^(L)my words will not pass away.
