Death, Resurrection Foretold

^17 (A)As Jesus was about to go up to Jerusalem, He took the twelve disciples aside by themselves, and on the road He said to them, ¹⁸ “Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man ^(B)will be ^[a]handed over to the chief priests and scribes, and they will condemn Him to death, ¹⁹ and they ^(C)will hand Him over to the Gentiles to mock and flog and crucify, and on ^(D)the third day He will be raised up.”

Jesus’ Sufferings Foretold

^32 (A)Now they were on the road going up to Jerusalem, and Jesus was walking on ahead of them; and they ^(B)were amazed, and those who followed were fearful. And again He took the twelve aside and began to tell them what was going to happen to Him,

⁵¹ When the days were approaching for ^(A)His ^[a]ascension, He ^[b]was determined ^(B)to go to Jerusalem;

^31 (A)Now He took the twelve aside and said to them, “Behold, ^(B)we are going up to Jerusalem, and ^(C)all the things that have been written through the prophets about the Son of Man will be accomplished. ^32 (D)For He will be ^[a]handed over to the Gentiles, and will be ridiculed, and abused, and spit upon,
