Mark 14:55-65

55 Now the chief priests and the whole council[a] were seeking testimony against Jesus to put him to death, but they found none. 56 (A)For many bore false witness against him, but their testimony (B)did not agree. 57 And some stood up and bore false witness against him, saying, 58 (C)“We heard him say, (D)‘I will destroy this temple (E)that is made with hands, and in three days I will build another, (F)not made with hands.’” 59 Yet even about this their testimony did not agree. 60 And the high priest stood up in the midst and asked Jesus, “Have you no answer to make? What is it that these men testify against you?”[b] 61 But (G)he remained silent and made no answer. (H)Again the high priest asked him, “Are you (I)the Christ, the Son of (J)the Blessed?” 62 And Jesus said, “I am, and (K)you will see the Son of Man (L)seated at the right hand of Power, and (M)coming with the clouds of heaven.” 63 And the high priest (N)tore his garments and said, “What further witnesses do we need? 64 You have heard (O)his blasphemy. What is your decision?” And they (P)all condemned him as (Q)deserving death. 65 (R)And some began (S)to spit on him and (T)to cover his face and to strike him, saying to him, “Prophesy!” And the guards received him (U)with blows.

55 The chief priests and the whole Sanhedrin were looking for evidence against Jesus so that they could put him to death, but they did not find any. 56 Many testified falsely against him, but their statements did not agree.
57 Then some stood up and gave this false testimony against him: 58 ‘We heard him say, “I will destroy this temple made with human hands and in three days will build another, not made with hands.”’ 59 Yet even then their testimony did not agree.
60 Then the high priest stood up before them and asked Jesus, ‘Are you not going to answer? What is this testimony that these men are bringing against you?’ 61 But Jesus remained silent and gave no answer.
Again the high priest asked him, ‘Are you the Messiah, the Son of the Blessed One?’
62 ‘I am,’ said Jesus. ‘And you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven.’
63 The high priest tore his clothes. ‘Why do we need any more witnesses?’ he asked. 64 ‘You have heard the blasphemy. What do you think?’
They all condemned him as worthy of death. 65 Then some began to spit at him; they blindfolded him, struck him with their fists, and said, ‘Prophesy!’ And the guards took him and beat him.

55 Now the chief priests and the whole council sought witness against Jesus to put him to death; and found it not. 56 For many bare false witness against him, and their witness agreed not together. 57 And there stood up certain, and bare false witness against him, saying, 58 We heard him say, I will destroy this [a]temple that is made with hands, and in three days I will build another made without hands. 59 And not even so did their witness agree together. 60 And the high priest stood up in the midst, and asked Jesus, saying, Answerest thou nothing? what is it which these witness against thee? 61 But he held his peace, and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him, and saith unto him, Art thou the Christ, the Son of the Blessed? 62 And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting at the right hand of Power, and coming with the clouds of heaven. 63 And the high priest rent his clothes, and saith, What further need have we of witnesses? 64 Ye have heard the blasphemy: what think ye? And they all condemned him to be [b]worthy of death. 65 And some began to spit on him, and to cover his face, and to buffet him, and to say unto him, Prophesy: and the officers received him with [c]blows of their hands.

At last (C)two came forward 61 and said, “This man said, (D)‘I am able to (E)destroy the temple of God, and to rebuild it in three days.’” 62 And the high priest stood up and said, “Have you no answer to make? What is it that these men testify against you?”[b] 63 (F)But Jesus remained silent. (G)And the high priest said to him, (H)“I adjure you by (I)the living God, (J)tell us if you are (K)the Christ, (L)the Son of God.” 64 Jesus said to him, (M)“You have said so. But I tell you, from now on (N)you will see the Son of Man (O)seated at the right hand of Power and (P)coming on the clouds of heaven.” 65 Then the high priest (Q)tore his robes and said, (R)“He has uttered blasphemy. What further witnesses do we need? You have now heard his blasphemy. 66 What is your judgment?” They answered, (S)“He deserves death.”

Finally two came forward 61 and declared, ‘This fellow said, “I am able to destroy the temple of God and rebuild it in three days.”’
62 Then the high priest stood up and said to Jesus, ‘Are you not going to answer? What is this testimony that these men are bringing against you?’ 63 But Jesus remained silent.
The high priest said to him, ‘I charge you under oath by the living God: Tell us if you are the Messiah, the Son of God.’
64 ‘You have said so,’ Jesus replied. ‘But I say to all of you: from now on you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven.’[a]
65 Then the high priest tore his clothes and said, ‘He has spoken blasphemy! Why do we need any more witnesses? Look, now you have heard the blasphemy. 66 What do you think?’
‘He is worthy of death,’ they answered.
