²⁴ “Consider carefully what you hear,” he continued. “With the measure you use, it will be measured to you—and even more.^(A)

⁴² Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you.^(A)

Judging Others^(A)

7 “Do not judge, or you too will be judged.^{(B) 2} For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.^(C)

³⁰ Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back.^(A)

³⁸ Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap.^(A) For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”^(B)

¹² Then Jesus said to his host, “When you give a luncheon or dinner, do not invite your friends, your brothers or sisters, your relatives, or your rich neighbors; if you do, they may invite you back and so you will be repaid. ¹³ But when you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind,^{(A) 14} and you will be blessed. Although they cannot repay you, you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.”^(B)

²⁸ And we know that in all things God works for the good^(A) of those who love him, who^[a] have been called^(B) according to his purpose.^(C)

⁶ God is just:^(A) He will pay back trouble to those who trouble you^{(B) 7} and give relief to you who are troubled, and to us as well. This will happen when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven^(C) in blazing fire^(D) with his powerful angels.^(E)
