Beware of the Scribes^(A)

³⁸ Then ^(B)He said to them in His teaching, ^(C)“Beware of the scribes, who desire to go around in long robes, ^(D)love greetings in the marketplaces, ³⁹ the ^(E)best seats in the synagogues, and the best places at feasts, ^40 (F)who devour widows’ houses, and ^[a]for a pretense make long prayers. These will receive greater condemnation.”

The Widow’s Two Mites^(G)

^41 (H)Now Jesus sat opposite the treasury and saw how the people put money ^(I)into the treasury. And many who were rich put in much. ⁴² Then one poor widow came and threw in two ^[b]mites, which make a ^[c]quadrans. ⁴³ So He called His disciples to Himself and said to them, “Assuredly, I say to you that ^(J)this poor widow has put in more than all those who have given to the treasury; ⁴⁴ for they all put in out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty put in all that she had, ^(K)her whole livelihood.”

Jesus Predicts the Destruction of the Temple^(L)

13 Then ^(M)as He went out of the temple, one of His disciples said to Him, “Teacher, see what manner of stones and what buildings are here!”

² And Jesus answered and said to him, “Do you see these great buildings? ^(N)Not one stone shall be left upon another, that shall not be thrown down.”
