Mark 9:23-24

²³“‘If you can’?” said Jesus. “Everything is possible for one who believes.”^(A)

²⁴Immediately the boy’s father exclaimed, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!”

Mark 9:23-24

The Message

²³Jesus said, “If? There are no ‘ifs’ among believers. Anything can happen.”

²⁴No sooner were the words out of his mouth than the father cried, “Then I believe. Help me with my doubts!”

²³Jesus replied, “Why do you say ‘if you can’? Anything is possible for someone who has faith!”

²⁴At once the boy's father shouted, “I do have faith! Please help me to have even more.”

²³“What do you mean, ‘If I can’?” Jesus asked. “Anything is possible if a person believes.”

²⁴The father instantly cried out, “I do believe, but help me overcome my unbelief!”

²³Jesus said to the father, “You said, ‘If you can!’ All things are possible for the one who believes.”

²⁴Immediately the father cried out, “I do believe! Help ·me to believe more [me not to doubt; me overcome my unbelief; ^Lmy unbelief]!”
