^35 (A)And in the early morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house, and went away to a secluded place, and ^(B)prayed there for a time. ³⁶ Simon and his companions eagerly searched for Him; ³⁷ and they found Him and *said to Him, “Everyone is looking for You.” ³⁸ He *said to them, “Let’s go somewhere else to the towns nearby, so that I may also ^[a]preach there; for this is why I came.” ^39 (C)And He went into their synagogues ^[b]preaching throughout Galilee, and casting out the demons.

^42 (A)Now when day came, Jesus left and went to a secluded place; and the crowds were searching for Him, and they came to Him and tried to keep Him from leaving them. ⁴³ But He said to them, “I must also preach the kingdom of God to the other cities, ^(B)because I was sent for this purpose.”

⁴⁴ So He kept on preaching in the synagogues ^(C)of ^[a]Judea.

Ministry in Galilee

²³ Jesus was going ^(A)about in all of Galilee, ^(B)teaching in their synagogues and ^(C)proclaiming the ^[a]gospel of the kingdom, and ^(D)healing every disease and every sickness among the people.

²⁴ And the news about Him spread ^(E)throughout Syria; and they brought to Him all who were ill, those suffering with various diseases and severe pain, ^(F)demon-possessed, people with ^(G)epilepsy, and people who were ^(H)paralyzed; and He healed them. ²⁵ Large crowds ^(I)followed Him from Galilee and ^(J)the Decapolis, and Jerusalem, and Judea, and from ^(K)beyond the Jordan.
