8 For (A)nation will rise against nation, and (B)kingdom against kingdom. There will be (C)earthquakes in various places; there will be (D)famines. These are but the beginning of the birth pains.
9 (E)“But (F)be on your guard. For they will deliver you over to councils, and you will be beaten (G)in synagogues, and you will stand before (H)governors and (I)kings for my sake, (J)to bear witness before them. 10 And the gospel must first be proclaimed (K)to all nations.

9 “You must be on your guard. You will be handed over to the local councils and flogged in the synagogues.(A) On account of me you will stand before governors and kings as witnesses to them. 10 And the gospel must first be preached to all nations.
