Mark 12:16-18

¹⁶And they brought one. He said to them, “Whose image and inscription is this?”

“Caesar’s,” they replied.

¹⁷Jesus said to them, “Give to Caesar what belongs to Caesar and to God what belongs to God.” His reply left them overcome with wonder.

¹⁸Sadducees, who deny that there is a resurrection, came to Jesus and asked,

“Caesar’s,” they replied.

¹⁷Then Jesus said to them, “Give back to Caesar what is Caesar’s and to God what is God’s.”^(A)

And they were amazed at him.

¹⁸Then the Sadducees,^(C) who say there is no resurrection,^(D) came to him with a question.
